Chuck Todd: Clinton ‘Extra Defiant’ in CNN Interview
Meet the Press host Chuck Todd was not impressed with Hillary Clinton’s first televised interview since announcing her candidacy, calling her “extra defiant” in the face of questions about her use of a personal email server while Secretary of State.
“On the email questions, she didn’t read her own transcript from the press conference,” Todd said, referencing the ah hoc presser Clinton gave a few days after the email server story broke. “She was more forthcoming at that press conference, showed a little more remorse. She was very defiant [in the intervew], extra defiant on that issue on all those sort of characteristic issues, trust and e-mail.”
Howevs: “I thought she was amazingly prepared in what she wanted to say about Trump and immigration, how quickly she pivoted to trying to tar the whole field and, more importantly, going right at Jeb [Bush],” Todd said. “I think there was a tell there.”
