Anonymous Dem Senator Blasts Obama’s Credibility: ‘You Got to Have It, to Lose It’

Members of President Obama’s party in Congress are lashing out at the president after being put in the politically disadvantageous position of having to defend the negative consequences and faulty roll-out of the Affordable Care Act. Democratic officeholders are not holding back with quotes, including some brutal personal and political attacks on Obama.

According to POLITICO’s Manu Raju, Democrats are expressing dissatisfaction with the position the White House has put them in as the problems associated with the ACA roll-out continue to mount.

“You got to have it, to lose it,” said one unidentified Democratic senator when asked about how the ACA’s roll-out is impacting Obama’s credibility.

“If it’s fixed, and when it’s fixed, that will decide whether the issue is a big issue next year,” said Sen. Dick Durbin (D-IL) when asked if the ACA’s health insurance exchange website’s failures would impact the 2014 midterm elections. His advice was described by Raju as “blunt”: “Fix it.”

Mark Begich (D-AK) told Raju that the frustration he is experiencing with the White House was “Very high.”

“It’s frustrating because we should be able to get through this. I really do believe we will,” he added.
