As Obamacare repeal passed from life support to vegetative state to final and complete and painful death, the knives were out almost immediately in what will certainly be an extended blame game.
First among targets as the dust settles was Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. An easy and predictable mark you say? Maybe so — but life isn’t fair.
On Tueday, Resurgent founder Erick Erickson published a bruising editorial on FoxNews.com calling for the GOP to “Ditch Mitch McConnell” and seek new Senate leadership.
The entirety of the GOP agenda is stuck in the Senate where Mitch McConnell seems intent to let it all die on the vine while blaming conservatives. It is time for the Senate GOP to replace Mitch McConnell so that President Trump can actually get some of his legislative policies advanced. It is not conservatives who are the obstacle, but the Senate leader himself.
Ouch.
During an appearance on Fox & Friends on Wednesday, Erickson doubled down:
“He doesn’t seem to be down with the president’s agenda. Where’s the wall? Where’s tax reform? Where’s Obamacare repeal? These are all things that go to the Senate and then they suddenly die,” said Erickson. “It’s not like there aren’t the votes in the Senate to get them passed. We can’t even blame filibuster for this because the way they structured Obamacare repeal you only needed 50 votes plus the Vice-President. They can’t even get that with Mitch McConnell.”
How the times have changed for Erickson. It wasn’t too long ago, that he wasn’t much with the president’s agenda either!
If Donald Trump truly wants to stop Hillary Clinton, he needs to withdraw from the race at once. https://t.co/5TvRekYjwL

The thing I’m most waiting to see is how many GOP talking heads get whiplash on Nov. 9 as they rush to claim they never liked Trump anyway.

I am glad reality is dawning on you all now that Trump is a braying jackass and incapable of winning.
