Geraldo Rivera’s Radio Show Goes National, Bumping Glenn Beck Off Dozen Stations
Geraldo Rivera‘s radio show, Geraldo (which broadcasts from WABC-AM) is going national starting tomorrow across 54 stations distributed by Cumulus Media Networks. Along his way, Rivera’s knocking Glenn Beck off about a dozen of those stations.
Rivera is aiming to provide a happy-medium alternative to other radio hosts such as Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, according to Crain’s New York. “I’m not a right-winger, I’m not a left-winger, I’m in the militant middle,” he said.
Cumulus Senior Vice President Dennis Green touted the idea of a less “aggressive” show. “”When you look at the audience for these more aggressive, more vitriolic [hosts], those shows have started to show erosion,” he said. “We think there’s a changing of the guard.”
