Limbaugh Asks What “Pharaoh Obama” Was Doing At A Party While Egypt’s In Turmoil

Rush Limbaugh’s discussion of the Egyptian protests on today’s show featured a lot of great quotes. He the “state-run, drive-by media” of supporting the overthrow of the Egyptian government without considering the circumstances as well as asking why they aren’t giving George W. Bush credit for predicting democracy would spread like “wildfire.” Most notably, however, he asked what President Obama was doing at a party while Egypt was burning.

The party in question was for David Axelrod, Obama advisor who’s leaving the White House to begin working on the President’s 2012 re-election. It was thrown at the house of Linda Douglass, ABC reporter turned White House spokeswoman turned National Journal VP journalist. It was apparently attended by such media figures as Jake Tapper and Chuck Todd. Limbaugh was not happy:

“I want you to imagine something. Imagine that Karl Rove had decided to leave the White House and I threw a Bye-Bye Bash for him in my house that Bush 43 attended while something like this was going on in Egypt. Do you think you would have heard about that party the moment it was taking place? Yeah. And do you think any media people would have been invited? No.”

UPDATE: This post originally incorrectly identified Douglass as doing journalism for the National Journal. She is, in fact, the Senior VP of Communications and not working on the writing end. Apologies for the mistake.
