News Animation Goes Political: Knocks Pres. Obama Speech In New Video
The Taiwanese NMA News animation videos are coming out with increasing regularity, and are getting more timely and news-worthy.
In the past, they’ve been fairly fun in their bipartisan ribbing toward both political parties – but their latest Pres. Barack Obama video takes some sharp jabs at the Commander-in-Chief.
Based on Pres. Obama’s speech Wednesday in Cleveland, NMA News reveals what he really wanted to say in a just released new video. It begins with, “As you can probably tell my presence today in a dump like Cleveland, that message is about the economy.”
He advises people to take a vacation. “Go somewhere nice, like Spain,” says animated Pres. Obama. “Wait, scratch that, go somewhere local, whatever.”
Also:
We’ve got bills to pay. health care isn’t cheap. the deficit is like a gillion dollars right now. you don’t even want to see what we owe China.
And he notes the increasingly inevitable: “Come November, a lot of my friends, they’re going to be out of a job.”
It’s pretty impressive the speed in which they put these together – The speech happened around 24 hours before the parody video came out. But also, the tone of it shows NMA News could be gearing up for a sharper political focus as November approaches, sure to garner attention in the way JibJab did at one point.
And if they’re taking suggestions, how about an animated Parker Spitzer show preview?
