Sarah Palin: ‘It Harms ‘Our Republic When A Candidate Isn’t Vetted By The Media’

Breaking: Sarah Palin has said something negative about the media. Today, the ex-governor chatted with the hosts of Anchorage’s Bob & Mark Morning Show—and, sure enough, the talk soon turned to the mean old people of the press. Specifically, Palin was discussing former Mediaite contributor John Ziegler‘s documentary, Media Malpractice: How Obama Got Elected and Palin Was Targeted, which is apparently how available on Alaskan Pay-Per-View.

Palin, who is (unsurprisingly) a fan of the film, agrees with either Bob or Mark that it deserves to be shown “at the college level, in every political science course there is. And in communications courses.” She then gives a short, run-on monologue about the state of the media, making sure to also take a few digs at President Obama:

“My degree was in communications, and having learned way back when, in college, the who what when where and why of journalism, things have certainly evolved and devolved into a sad state of affairs with mainstream media reporting. We know that Obama wasn’t vetted through the campaign, and now some things are coming home to roost, if you will, with his experience and his associations. And that ultimately harms our republic, when a candidate isn’t vetted by the media, that cornerstone of our democracy. So you’re right—it’s not about me. And whether you like my politics or not, you can push all that aside and just pay attention to what the message is in this documentary, and that is that things have got to change for the better in the state of journalism. Otherwise, it could be part of a demise of our democracy if that cornerstone erodes.”

There you have it: a lack of journalistic integrity and curiosity helped get Obama elected. Also, media criticism of Sarah Palin is killing democracy. Or at least the republic. Or something.

Audio of Palin’s appearance is below.

    She’s so smart.

This coming from the same dumbfuck that advises other conservative candidates to AVOID ALL MEDIA except bootlicking Fox News flunkies and other ass-kissing acolytes in the Hannity mold.

If the media is a “cornerstone of our democracy,” then why are you telling politicians to constantly run away from those in the media attempting to vet them?

Her stupidity really knows no bounds.

Sarah Palin was and still is the most vetted political figure in the history of the friggin world.

As stated, if the butt kissing liberal media had devoted even 10% of that same “journalistic” enthusiasm towards digging into Obama’s abilities and previous history, the “One” would have been perceived as being a little more ordinary than he was and his head might not have swelled up so much.

But, I am actually glad that Obama got elected…. because of that we got the media to out itself in such an obvious way that the majority of Americans can now see clearly how biased it is, we got the Democrats to over reach in their pursuit of socialism and in doing so, force the majority of Americans to rise up and say NO.

It has been wonderful…. in two years, the liberal media and the left wing wackos and Democrats have done more for Conservatives than could have been imagined. They have led to a revival of love of the Constitution and a ground swell of activists that will over the next decade or so work on fixing the mess the liberals have created in America.

That is one vivid fantasy world. The drugs are working.

What a bunch of BS double speak.

If she thinks politicians should be vetted, then maybe she should try doing an interview with someone other than Fox for a change.

Being “vetted” means sometimes having to answer questions you don’t like.

What? Is anyone doubting that Obama wasn’t carried over the goalposts on the shoulders of MSM action (constant puffery) and inaction (ignoring his past and the downsides of his policies)? Can anyone be such a partisan hack and care so little about what’s best for the country that they’d think the MSM did a good job? Unfortunately, it appears so.

OTOH, Palin got the full court press from the MSM. Except, instead of pointing out what’s wrong with her policies, they concentrated on lying and on personal issues (long list: 24ahead.com/s/sarah-palin-smear and there are even longer lists available from others).

If you’re willing to put country before party you have to take action yourself. You can’t count on the MSM to do it, because they won’t. Instead, you have to get out there and vet candidates yourself, regardless of which party they belong to.

The way to circumvent the MSM is to find smart, experienced questioners – such as trial lawyers – and have them “cross-examine” politicians *about their policies* on video for Youtube:

I’ve been pushing that plan for almost four years, and I’ve gotten almost zero help with it despite how it could result in better politicians and a better media. Please take a few moments and encourage others to follow that plan.

Glad someone beat me to the irony in all of this.
Palin just doesnt see it. What a very dull knife in the draw she is.

It’s not vetting when someone like Sharron Angle can run for the US Senate and make it all the way to election day without anyone knowing what her position is on Afghanistan.

Vetting means that politicians are actually required to take a stand and explain themselves.

“There you have it: a lack of journalistic integrity and curiosity helped get Obama elected. Also, media criticism of Sarah Palin is killing democracy. Or at least the republic. Or something.”

Self Assessment is not one of your strong points, right Hillary?

I tend to agree with her…journalist would trying to shut down any critism of Obama by calling that person a racist. Well, unfortunately for your profession…it is not working any longer…even journalists are gearing up…. In a strange sort of way, I kind of feel bad for Obama for what is about to be unleased on him by the media that ushered him in.

Oh well…such is life….all I can say …President Obama…welcome to our world. Oh and don’t worry, you only have 720 days and a wakeup before you can get the hell out and go home.

  • Newsjunky

This is the funniest thing I’ve heard all day. This woman is thoroughly devoid of intellect and reason.

    Hello.

    JournoList.

    Goodbye.

The media fell in love with Nixon in ’68, following him on the campaign trail as he played the piano. The media fell in love with Ford. Then Carter. Then Reagan. Years later, it was Obama’s turn. I don’t think it is a matter of journalistic integrity. It is just a bandwagon effect. The media should be better at vetting our candidates for high office, but they are not.

If that comes as a surprise to you, you have no business writing for a site that purports to follow the media. Just, DUH!

  • Frankg3400

Freaking Hilarious, Palin never stops giving does she! What a joke!

  • PBerg

LMAO!!!!!! THIS from the asshat, when the media TRIED to vett her (hard questions, like “what newspapers do you read”) were criticized that they were picking on her!! Who tried to equate her foreign policy experience with the fact Russia could be seen from some little Island off Alaska which she had never even been on .

When shown in her true light—it is all the media’s fault that she looks like an ignorant, uneducated, redneck freak! You are right Frankg—she IS the gift that just keeps on giving to the Democrats! Please Sarah, Please, Please—-run in 2012! We are all eagerly waiting for the laughs!
