Colbert Gives Patrick Kennedy Some ‘Massa’ Afghanistan Coverage
Stephen Colbert has a plan to “refocus” the media’s coverage on Afghanistan. Colbert was apparently inspired to answer Rhode Island congressman Patrick Kennedy’s somewhat unhinged call for the media to pay more attention to Afghanistan instead of focusing on the likes of Eric Massa and his adventures in “snorkeling” by going Massa on Afghanistan. It sounds something like this:
The media has an obligation to keep you informed about the events in Afghanistan. For instance, last week our man Hamid Karzai invited the 9/11 and Holocaust denying, and nuke pursuing, protester shooting president of Iran to their capitol city and sat there while he criticized America, the country that is keeping Karzai’s head from being lopped off by the Taliban. But! The most disturbing part of the story is what they did when they met…they hugged!
