National Enquirer Editor: John Edwards Indictment Could Be Soon!

video

The National Enquirer really hit a grand slam in 2008 with their Rielle Hunter/John Edwards story: not only did it bring some previously unthought-of prestige to the tabloid (they’re up for a Pulitzer!) for uncovering the affair, but now Edwards may actually be indicted by a grand jury for diverting political campaign funds for both Hunter and hush money. Now we’re talking not just a politician’s love-life, we’re talking federal charges. Enquirer Executive Editor Barry Levine was on Bill O’Reilly tonight to discuss.

So Edwards has appeared secretly before the grand jury already? So what’s the big…oh, this time we’ll get to see it on TV/read about it in the Enquirer. Got it.

You know who had the story first?

    …Drudge

  • The Real Royal King

I don’t know if anyone in America has ever taken the “N” in “FNC” seriously, but this guest pretty much disillusioned even the last true believer. TBC? The Tea Bag Channel? Is that taken?

When a third-rate news weekly magazine scoops a big news organization like NBC and is nominated for the Pulitzer, it is big news.

Wasn’t it The National Enquirer that first broke the story about Edwards affair? And even O’Reilly wouldn’t touch it. MSM wouldn’t go near it.
I just think it’s ironic that when I would mention a certain Congressman’s name, the first thing I would always be told would be……”That lowlife? You know he divorced his wife while she had cancer.”
And the other ironic thing about this is, what if this bum would have made it all the way to the Whitehouse? How would the MSM spun this?
The National Enquirer , the paper of record. Who Knew? The next time I’m stuck in the Express lane at the Shop-Rite with the person who has a hundred items in front of me. I’ll have to check it out.

Puck, I would think that the Dems would be delirious with joy that Bush won both the 2000 and the 2004 elections.

They really dodged some bullets yet they seem ungrateful.

God, they could have wound up with either Joe Liebermann OR John Edwards as VPs. Bush sure saved their bacon. :)

Yet another issue where the big 3 news networks drop the ball. A potential presidential candidate cheats on his wife and no one in the MSM will touch the story. Gee, could they have a reason not to want to expose some MAJOR character faults (career ending ones) in a Democratic potential candidate? Like, say, bias maybe? This is another reason why shows like the Daily Show have a better reputation, and why the big 3 continue to lose viewers. Edwards is a waste of skin and the NE deserves it’s prize, although it may be the only one the NE ever gets. I really never thought I would ever see the NE get a Pulitzer in my lifetime.
