ABC’s Diane Sawyer Will Broadcast From China After The 2010 Election

Diane Sawyer just finished up anchoring the Chilean miner story last week (which won her praise from one broadcast news expert), and after the midterm election season winds down next month, she’ll be bringing ABC’s World News to China.

Sawyer previewed the trip, where she’ll be anchoring from for three days beginning November 15, Friday night on World News.

Sawyer started the segment by playing campaign ads which focused on China, including one aimed at Pat Toomey. “He’s fighting for jobs…in China,” it said ominously.

“One country is cited as America’s dangerous rival,” says Sawyer in the report. “In 30 days, ABC News takes on what is really happening in China.”

It also included surprising statistics about China, including the fact that there are more English speakers in China than there are people in the United States.

Sawyer’s trip will take her from Beijing to Shanghai, and she’ll be joined by correspondents/anchors David Muir and Clarissa Ward. More content will appear on ABCNews.com.

Since Sawyer took over the program nearly a year ago, she has traveled to Copenhagen for an interview with Iranian Pres. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as well as anchoring from Afghanistan, Haiti and the Gulf Coast.

Here’s the China trip preview:

Will Anita Dunn and Van Jones be special correspondents or commentators??

  • Harry Flashman

Any possibility she could stay there aftter? Just wondering. After all, she’d fit right in with their ideological perspective.

Geez, Twit. Your ass is in the 21st century. Do you think your mind will ever get there?

You forgot two Democrat ass kissers par excellence: Bill Clinton and Barack Obama. But then you’re kinda old so I’m not surprised that you forget.

But they weren’t as involved in the wholsesale relocation of American jobs to China, Azarkhan. Of course, Big Dick Cheney gets much of the “credit” for that as well. But, of course, he was only a de facto president.

Geez, Twit. They are pretty much responsible for our dreadful jobless rates these days. Aren’t we allowed to be informed by history, or is ignorance preferable in your mind?

Geez Twit. Don’t you keep track of the stupid sh*t you say? Guess not–that IS a lot of sh*t to shovel. I was referencing your “Milhaus” comment, fool.

The “NA” in NAFTA stands for North America. The agreement is among Canada, the USA and EUM. China is not in North America.

    [Surely, this has to be a joke. Even Kumquat isn’t – well, maybe he is.}

No, I don’t think that is what you meant at all. Man up! You made a mistake. Everyone does.

NAFTA also included Mexico, Robert. You know. The place where, if our auto plants moved there, would help provide American jobs?
