Carly Fiorina Gets Wild Applause for Response to Trump’s ‘Face’ Attack

Carly Fiorina got huge applause tonight at the CNN debate with her short response to Donald Trump‘s recent comments about her face.

You’ll recall that last week, in a Rolling Stone profile, Trump snarked, upon seeing Fiorina on TV, “Look at that face! Would anyone vote for that? Can you imagine that, the face of our next president?! I mean, she’s a woman, and I’m not s’posedta say bad things, but really, folks, come on. Are we serious?”

Trump claimed that was about her “persona,” but tonight Fiorina reacted by saying, “I think women all over this country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said.”

Fiorina got wild applause from the crowd for that short answer.

Trump’s response — “I think she’s got a beautiful face and I think she’s a beautiful woman” — got a much more tepid reaction.
