Conan Offers Jimmy Kimmel Video Apology For Similar Sarah Palin Joke

Video

Conan O’Brien‘s joke yesterday that killed, mixed footage of Sarah Palin from her reality show and scenes from the animated classic Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer to show Palin taking glee in destroying the beloved creature. Audiences found it hilarious, but one group of people likely not laughing were the writers of Jimmy Kimmel‘s late night show who came up with a similar concept a few weeks ago. Therefore Conan, in a smart move to not only do what was right, but also capture some publicity, offered this funny video apology to express his regret for borrowing the material.

This is why there needs to be a new Journolist. You media folks need to get your shit together if you’re going to systematically mock Sarah Palin out of existence. With news pundits, editorial writers, and comedians all focused on making fun of her every move, this was bound to happen. You need to coordinate better.

Hey Matt Schneider, while it is often very hard to recognize sarcasm in written statements ( which is why I think the internet needs to have a “sarcasm font” ) it is very easy to recognize in video and voice statements. Conan was OBVIOUSLY not apologizing, he was being sarcastic. All I can say is I hope your article was written as a sarcastic jab, but I don’t read it that way. I realize it’s a slow news day but don’t make up shit. Pretty please?
