End Times Near: will.i.am Set to Appear on Meet the Press

It’s no secret that NBC’s Sunday talk show, Meet the Press, is slightly embattled in both the ratings and PR department. So how does one attempt to boost morale and perhaps draw a few more viewers?

Take a look at this Sunday’s programming notes, just released to the press several minutes ago:

ROUNDTABLE: NEWLY RELEASED DOCUMENTS ABOUT BENGHAZI HAVE RE-IGNITED THE DEBATE OVER THE ATTACK. WHAT HAPPENS NEXT? AND WHAT’S THE REACTION TO THE BOTCHED EXECUTION IN OKLAHOMA?

Anita Dunn, Fmr. White House Communications Director

will.i.am

Chuck Todd, NBC News Political Director and Chief White House Correspondent

Kathleen Parker, Washington Post Columnist

Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT)

Notice anything interesting there? Let’s see, you’ve got a former White House flack, MSNBC’s lead White House guy, a newspaper columnist, and a congressman active in the Benghazi debates. Oh, and in the second slot, in case you didn’t see it: A pop music supah-stah.

Yes, will.i.am — producer of American classics like “My Humps” and “Let’s Get Retarded” — will sit in for a Meet the Press panel on… Benghazi and the death penalty.

Hey, at least it’s not Sen. John McCain for the billionth time.
