As cable news continues to search for new ways to cover the situation in Ferguson, Mo., following the fatal shooting for unarmed teenager Michael Brown by a police officer last Saturday, Fox News’ On the Record with Greta Van Susteren tried out an unusual approach. On Tuesday night the show sent two reporters to the convenience store where Brown allegedly stole cigarillos in order to recreate the surveillance video footage released by police last week.
Ted Williams, a former police officer and federal agent turned Fox News contributor, played the role of Michael Brown, pushing and threatening the clerk, played by Fox correspondent Griff Jenkins, near the entrance to the store. The two men recreated the confrontation in excruciating detail, based upon the video released by police.
Following their dramatization, the pair traced Brown’s steps from the convenience store to the location where he was shot six times by Ferguson police officer Darren Wilson, who, at the time, reportedly wasn’t aware that Brown was a suspect in the convenience store incident.
