Fox News Tops All Cable Networks (Even ESPN) With Tiger Woods Coverage
Tiger Woods‘ apology Friday morning was broadcast on dozens of networks – but the top-rated network was a non-sports outlet. Fox News had the most viewers, even topping ESPN.
Here’s a breakdown of how the networks fared for Tiger coverage.
FNC average 2,073,000 total viewers from 11-11:15amET – which was the entirety of the speech. ESPN was #2 on cable, with 1,710,000. CNN was 3rd (894,000), Golf Channel 4th (741,000), HLN 5th (531,000), CNBC 6th (493,000) and MSNBC 7th (414,000).
In the A25-54 demographic, ESPN was #1 while FNC was 2nd.
Fox News was also #1 in total viewers on cable from 11-11:30amET and during the entire 11amET hour (ESPN took first in the demo).
