Cable news ratings, June 24, 2010: Check out the highlights, and see the full ratings below:

• Soledad O’Brien told us last week that ratings were just a part of judging the success of her latest In America documentary – well the premiere of Gary And Tony Have A Baby Thursday at 8pmET brought low ratings. The program finished in 4th place, behind FNC, MSNBC and HLN, in both total viewers and the A25-54 demographic. It was the lowest CNN prime time show in total viewers, but beat Larry King in the demo.

• The top cable news show was Bill O’Reilly‘s, whose FNC show had nearly 200,000 more demo viewers and 800,000 more total viewers than #2.

Looks like nobody watched “Gary and Tony” but Gary and Tony!

I enjoyed the show, though I wonder how ‘anonymous’ anyone is when these type shows don’t reveal a last name or town. It would still be pretty easy to figure out who these people are, IF you are someone with a back-woods mentality, who thinks the world should not be as it is. While several months have gone by since the baby was born, anyone who didn’t know the specifics of the birth, perhaps even within their own family, will know now. Some ignorance might come back around again, causing unnecessary accusations, anger and hurt. All for a news entertainment show.

I wish the couple and their son a wonderful, healthy life. I offer thanks to the woman who provided her eggs, and to the couple who allowed a child to grow within their family. Especially since they realize it was much more than about being paid for their contributions. They participation was about life and love.

Sorry CNN- Your agenda is not ours.

Another example of how “in tune” CNN is when it comes to guessing what people want to watch.

To borrow an expression from another thread “ick”.

What happens between two consenting adults is their own business, but bringing a child into such a union escapes my perception of reality. Sure, these two men might raise the child in loving surroundings, but what about the few million chicken hawk fudgepackers who would make a child their sex toy? It is difficult to address this perversion in language that becomes the gentleman I try to be, so I’ll just leave it by saying I really and truly feel sorry for this child.
