Cable news ratings, July 26, 2011:

•Big ratings for Fox’s Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, who had a combined total audience of more than 5 million viewers. Among viewers 25-54, the two shows totaled more than 1.3 million–making the two shows easily the top rated programs in all of cable news. Fox’s lowest-rated hour was the five p.m. The Five, which had an average audience of 332,000 viewers 25-54, still more than enough to win the hour over CNN, MSNBC and HLN.

•On Tuesday, CNN and MSNBC had two hours where they found themselves in tight competition for second place–at 5 p.m. and 10. At five, Wolf Blitzer squeezed a narrow victory (just 1,000 viewers 25-54) over MSNBC’s Chris Matthews. At ten, AC 360 trailed The Ed Show by just 2,000 viewers.

The other news organisations should seriously consider merging themselves to provide some semblance of competition to Fox. Its embarassing to watch FNC kick their a sses every day.

    Boom Winning!

  • pa dad

doesn’t seem like a fair comparison when you know fox ain’t a news network

  • Anonymous

But I thought Morgan was going to demolish Hannity?

  • Anonymous

MG- The5 beat  CNN, HLN and MSNBC at every hour and in both demographic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The Real Royal Emperor

And, here’s your prize: A Bucket Full of Ignorance!

  • The Real Royal Emperor

If by other news organizations, you include ABC, CBS and NBC: WRONG! FOX “News” is less than a hacking, irritating, infested flea in that circus.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

In the aggregate reaching less than 5% of Americans. How compelling!

  • Anonymous

They are #1 in cable  aggregate or not!
    You lose again.

  • Anonymous

Purveyed by the King of Ignorance no less.

O’Reilly draws almost twice as many viewers as MSNBC and CNN combined.    Maybe Fox’s competitors could learn something — for a start, how about allowing frank, honest debate on the issues without mind-deadening political correctness?

  • Anonymous

You need some new material, something based in reality perhaps.watch FNC to get some truth and turn away from msnbccnnabccbsnbcnytimesetc.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

I prefer to get my news non-hacked. A bit of PBS, with a bit of BBC, added in bit of NPR and the Times and the Post.

BTW: Come on out, Moderate. No Muslims here. Nor in Norway.

  • The Real Royal Emperor

You don’t understand plain English, do you? What is your first language?

FACT: ABC News beats FOX “News”. CBS beats FOX “News”. NBC beats FOX “News”. Just the Facts ….

  • gordonbloyershow

You don’t know “news” from a comic book.

  • gordonbloyershow

Maddow under a million again. LOL

Come on, this aint fair… at this rate, Fox will get a monopoly over the market and then they woul have to break down fox… :( . Come on, dumbocrats, tell Soros to found the Commie Central

  • John

MSLSD abc CBS NBC CNN slobber on Obummer but the American people have caught on this no leadership, lead from behind, destroy the country with massive debt, apologize for our exceptionalism, sue states for administration inept ability to secure border, pander to all illegal immigrants, call tea party extremist, absolute failure on all fronts president. It’s no wonder liberal media outlets are losing ratings. And they say they are not biased. What a lie

Big ratings for Fox’s Bill O’Reilly and Sean Hannity, who had a combined total audience of more than 5 million viewers.
     - And MSNBC combined from 5pm to 10pm hours couldn’t even reach 5M.

Sponge Bob Square Pants beats Bill’O the clown every night.

  • thisexists

Then Sponge Bob must really be beating the crap out of MSNBC.

  • Anonymous

where is the mediate coverage on The Five?  The numbers are amazing, and right out of the gate in a summer fill spot.  I DVR’ed it just to check out Gutfeld, but it’s really entertaining.   Great core group, just needs more of Juan Williams so Beckel is not overwhelmed by the libertarian and conservatives.   The ratings should be a huge story for mediaite, isn’t this what they cover????

  • thisexists

So insignificant, that you stay worked up over it.

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GWUMDXSUYVXFOVKEDR7OG3SD7A John Doe

    Take a Hike!

  • http://pulse.yahoo.com/_GWUMDXSUYVXFOVKEDR7OG3SD7A John Doe

It is not merely fascinating that Fox News beats all other respective networks by a wide margin, rather it is flabbergasting that Fox News beats ALL OTHER NETWORKS “COMBINED, BY A WIDE MARGIN.”
