Limbaugh Accuses Dem Rep. Cummings of ‘Faking Outrage’

Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-MD) caused a bit of a stir during a congressional hearing on the IRS Wednesday morning when he demanded the right to ask a question. “You cannot just have a one-sided investigation,” he shouted at House Oversight Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA). “There is absolutely something wrong with that, and it is absolutely un-American.” But according to Rush Limbaugh, Cummings was merely “faking outrage.”
“For what it’s worth, Elijah Cummings was faking it,” Limbaugh declared on his show Wednesday. He did this, Limbaugh said, “to make the story of the hearings about Issa,” rather than about IRS official Lois Lerner, who once again plead the fifth to avoid incriminating herself. “The objective was to make this all about the mean, intransigent Republicans,” he said.

Limbaugh had “no doubt” that Cummings was “coached” by someone to halt the hearing with his outburst, but did not put it past him to do something like that on his own without being coached. “He knew exactly what he was doing: faking outrage.”
“Everything is a show,” Limbaugh said of Democrats. “Everything is theater.”
