Mark Levin Bashes Democrats Over Budget Plan On Hannity: They’re ‘Trying To Take The Country Over The Cliff’
Mark Levin sat down with Sean Hannity tonight to dismiss President Obama‘s attempts at outreach to the Republican party as no more than a stunt, and also too little too late, considering his past harsh rhetoric against the GOP. Levin took the Democrats to task for piling on Paul Ryan‘s budget while proposing a budget of their own that Levin called far more catastrophic and said the Democrats are “trying to take the country over the cliff.”
Hannity mockingly wondered why “the anointed one” didn’t get chosen as Pope before asking Levin about Obama preaching “doom and gloom” over sequestration days before this new “charm offensive.” Levin held up a white board with notes for liberals including “Obama equals bankruptcy,” saying that all the apocalyptic talk could actually become reality if Obama gets his way.
Hannity ran clips of Democrats bashing Ryan’s budget plan and saying how it appears to be largely unchanged from his budget last year. Levin called out the Democrats for downplaying exactly how many “duplicative, wasteful programs” there are in the federal government, saying that “they don’t care about anybody” because they’re in the business of promoting big government.
Hannity found it unbelievable that the “cuts” in the Democratic budget are really just reductions in spending increases. Levin asked Obama directly what he intends to do about entitlements, and added, “If we don’t have a deficit or debt crisis, why do you want to raise taxes too?” Levin compared the Democrats to “the Pied Piper trying to take the country over the cliff.”
Hannity and Levin lamented the grim economic future the Democrats’ proposals could bring, with Levin saying that the Republicans need to keep going after Obamacare, which he called “the big killer in this society… of liberty and the Constitution.” Levin targeted Obama again, called him a liar for raising taxes on the middle class after promising not to. Hannity touted how the two of them “had [Obama] pegged from day one.”
