Mediaite Chooses Its Favorite Michael Jackson Videos

Today marks the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s death. No doubt the blogosphere and (if last year’s overzealous coverage is any measure) also the cablesphere will be filled with retrospectives. However, Mediaite had not yet launched at this time last year (neither had Geekosystem, Styleite, or SportsGrid, for that matter), so we weren’t able to throw our hat in the Jackson nostalgia ring. Subsequently, we thought it’d be fun to poll the office and post a collection of our favorite Jackson videos. Beware, I know you think you won’t, but you will totally get sucked in to this.

Thriller (Everyone, obviously)

Mediaite

P.Y.T. (Colby)

Beat It (Glynnis)

Jam (Steve)

Say, Say, Say (Rachel)

Who’s Loving You (Tommy Christopher)

Remember the Time (Frances)

Dirty Diana (Video Jon)

Oh, and the correct answer is, “The Bartman,” from the early days of “The Simpsons.”

He didn’t sing it, but he wrote it.

Video was Jackson’s other art form and I’d say that all of them were good including the last one, which was finished after his death.

Though if I may, I would like to add a bit of snark about how Dan chose a non-controversial, universally-loved, nostalgia-inducing song as his fave, perhaps seeking the middle-ground long sought by a boss and a journalist.

Ah, you left out perhaps his biggest hit when he introduced the moon walk while doing “Billy Jean” at the Motown 25 show!

@notsofast: It’s on page 2, but still, a good choice.

@stormin1961 I totally agree and that’s why I tweeted a local morning news program about it AND they did read the tweet on the air. Thankfully the Today Show did talk to Ryan and Alana the day before about Farrah.
