More Tawdry John Edwards Revelations Score Huge 20/20 Ratings

Last night’s 20/20 featured an exclusive interview by Bob Woodruff with Andrew Young, a former John Edwards aide and author of the upcoming tell-all The Politician. 8.1 million people watched, the highest-rated 20/20 in nearly three months. If you missed it, we’ve got a clip from the show, detailing Edwards’ reaction immediately after the National Enquirer caught him at the Beverly Hilton visiting Rielle Hunter and their child.

ABC also received a statement from Elizabeth Edwards in which she explained that she “believed Andrew Young to be the father of this child until her husband confessed his paternity to her this past summer.” This is an interesting revelation: Edwards told the awful truth to his wife months before he publicly ‘fessed up to what most of America already assumed. The show then plays a scathing voicemail she left for Young a year before she learned the truth. The voicemail says, “You are going to have to take care of your baby… And then you, your concubine, and your entire family can stay out of our lives.”

Iowa, 2008. Des Moines Sheraton. Unbelievably, there I was, standing next to John Edwards at the mens room urinals. Straining to ‘not peek’ in the direction of his business, I hurridly finished my own, zipped up and walked to the sinks. Next to me there was a security agent of some sort. I washed and dried my hands, and started to exit the mensroom when I heard the following ; ” Sir, your transportation is ready and waiting.”
Then I heard ” Thank you, Wayne, let me reel this sucker in and we’ll be on our way.” I chuckled as the door shut behind me.

I watched the whole interview and think the Youngs are almost just as gross. The pics of them happy and smiling with Hunter…

They are coming forward because they want money, and John dumped them. They are still telling the truth, but they are just as guilty as frauding the American people. The idea that they took Hunter away, and spent holidays and New Years eve, just the three of them, all happy, living high on the hog. They might have been swindled by this creepy guy, but they still continued for years.

They are all gross, the whole lot of them. It’s one thing to screw up, and have an affair, it’s another to rise to the level of lies and fraud that they all did. Even Elizabeth.

It’s sad that the Youngs got caught up in the money wheel. But it’s even sadder that both Edwards thought that they could be high-ranking officials with all of their issues. That’s why this country is a mess. Everyone is out for themselves.

I won’t buy either Young’s book or Elizabeth Edward’s book. They all need to go away. Especially, self-rightous Elizabeth.
