The Five Explodes Over Allen West’s ‘Get The Hell Out Of The United States’ Comment

video

On Fox News’ The Five, co-host Bob Beckel has a usual batch of ways in which he shows how angry he is about a subject. There’s “Muffled Curse Words” Beckel, where he lets the audience know what he really thinks by saying the beginnings (and just that) of all sorts of fun words. And there’s “Silent, Arms Folded” Beckel, my personal favorite, who gets so upset about a subject he refuses to even talk about it. Whatever the case, he usually seems like he’s mostly joking around. Today though, we saw a new color of angry from Beckel; a genuine, righteous anger. The target of his rage was Rep. Allen West who, this weekend, argued the incredibly well thought out and intelligent proposal that President Obama and the rest of the Democratic leaders should “get the hell out of the United States of America.”

RELATED: Rep. Allen West Tells Obama And Democratic Leaders To ‘Get The Hell Out Of The United States’

Saying that he was going to try to remain as calm as he could, Beckel went off on West.

“In my 30 years of politics, I have never heard anything more disgraceful in my life. I think that Allen West owes an apology to a lot of people. He’s lucky to have that seat in the first place. I’ll tell you this, Mr. West; When you start shooting your mouth off like that – and I admire that you were in the military and you served your country. I understand that. But before you start saying that, at the end of it, you said ‘Get the hell our of the United States,’ then you didn’t say the policies. Now, there’s 20% of us or 22% of us that happen to be Progressives, who believe in what Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi say. You go on to say 100% of America. We’re 20% of America and we’re not going anywhere whether you like it or not.”

Beckel’s co-hosts all tried to defend West but they did little to dissuade his offense. Greg Gutfeld tried to argue that, after listening to outspoken black liberals “for 20-30 years,” it was awesome to hear one for conservatives (Watch out you don’t dip into Ann Coulter “Our blacks are better than your blacks” territory there, Greg…). Dana Perino argued that West was just talking about “messaging” and doesn’t really want anyone to leave the country. Eric Bolling kept bringing up West’s service.

However, the least successful in persuading Beckel was Kimberly Guilfoyle:

GUILFOYLE: [West] was exercising his freedom of speech which he is entitled to.

BECKEL: He told us to take ours out.

While there have certainly been segments of The Five that were louder, this was the most genuinely offended we can remember Beckel seeming. Perhaps because he was so intense in his condemnation of West, he was brought back out at the end of the show to give a special message saying that, while West was wrong, both sides have people on the fringe.

And that, folks, is how we all remain friends.

Beckel has a really stressful job.  He works at a news organization that is least likely to let screwups of his party slide.  At least at the other networks the only screwups you hear about are from the Republicans.  There is so much negative about the Democrats in recent years there’s very little for him to hang his hat on.  It has to be depressing for the poor guy.  I feel for him.  Cheer up Bob.   I’m just about to start watching The Five on DVR, this fun article makes sure I’ll pay attention.  Thanks Mediaite :)

allen west is very very right go with west and get the usa back get obama out he is no good

Why is this surprising. For the past 20+ years, Rusty the Chickenhawk has been the voice of the Party of No. He has such power over the lemmings, they no longer listen to reason. In his skewed little world, compromise does not exist. The only way he can keep his lemmings happy is if he increases the level of hatred every day. West is simply following the Chickenhawk’s lead. Hopefully, in the upcoming November Beat Down, the majority of Americans will see these hypocritical hate mongers for what they are. This is why I simply loath the Republican party. They do not have to stoop to these levels.

Faux outrage from Beckel for the cameras – the lefties do and say far worse than this and it doesn’t raise an eyebrow.

“Take your message of equality of achievement, take your message of economic dependency, and take your message of enslaving the entrepreneurial will and spirit of the American people somewhere else.
You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get the hell out of the United States of America.”

I was giving him the benefit of the doubt, that he meant to say, “You can take it to Europe, you can take it to the bottom of the sea, you can take it to the North Pole, but get IT the hell out of the United States of America.” since he said “you can take it…, you can take it…, you can take it….”

I don’t believe in telling people to get out of the US, so if that was his intent, I think he was wrong. But I don’t think that is what he intended to say. Just a guess.

Sorry there, Pork Chop, but it WAS the GOP who voted FOR the Civil Rights Act. Most democrats voted against the bill. It took the republicans to get that law passed and enacted!

Did you know that in the 1950′s, LBJ, as senator, voted against civil rights legislation?

    Study history much?

Anyway the real story is that Rep. Allen West isn’t going to win a second term thanks to the Florida Republican Party who is redistricting his district and will make it impossible for him to win. Even the Florida Republicans know this guy is bad for their brand. Don’t get used to Allen West he is a one termer.

Bye bye Allen West you born loser.

  • Hout Bosques

Ahem – I’ll be as polite as possible:

You’re correct on your first phrase – this is, after all, Fuppet News Channel, & Beckel is a fuppet; but you’re completely up your ass on the rest of your comment.
West is a sitting elected Congressional House representative. In contrast, every single person on the Boling for Black Blatherers list, 9 in total named named (and a lot more than that number implied, given his sweeping all “Black Panthers” in one pile, despite them being individuals proven subsequently to be of broad diversity) is NOT an elected government official, now or ever. There’s an important distinction at work between the two categories: an elected representative is to represent a district, that is, ALL the interests of ALL the people within that district, black, white, yellow, brown, blue, purple, male, female, old, young, child, adult, government employee, private business wage earner, entrepreneur, teacher, student, on & on – EVERYONE. In contrast, every person on that list is an advocate for an interest or a group of interests, and not constitutionally responsible to any other interest or group of interests.

That West does not respect the distinction & serve the role in accordance with the principles underlying the Constitution – indeed, he opposes much of the Constitution, not just in rhetoric, but in action, in his obstructionist voting pattern – means he is incompetent to be a House representative – & I have no doubt the majority or at least the plurality view of his constituents to that same effect will be expressed in November.

  • LiberalMediaIsCorrupt

You obviously don’t study history. The Dixiecrats of the early to mid 20th century were an entirely different Party than the Democratic Party of today. And for that matter so is the Republican Party. It is similar to Cons. claiming that Abraham Lincoln and Teddy Roosevelt were both Republicans, therefore the Republican Party of 1860 and the Republican Party of 1900 is the same as the Republican Party of 2012.

You know that isnt true and as my main man Bob Dole used to say.

“You know it, I know it, and the American people know it”.

    Class dismissed.

I said liberals… not democrats or republicans.  … the GOP today has pushed those liberal republicans out of the party.

  • Hout Bosques

Here’s the thing: the GOP establishment is actively cutting the TPers *cough* Birchers *cough* out of the presidential process. The fall-out of that sort of process – a process of purging – in a presidential election year, always flows down-ticket. It’s not that West in particular is going to be out of the 113th Congress, it’s that the TP caucus as a whole is about to be cut to ribbons. Right now I’d bet that even Michelle Bachmann isn’t going to be in the 113th Congress – she may not run, but if she does, I’m thinking she’ll be cut out at the nomination stage. This is quite normal & entirely predictable following in-party insurgencies, because insurgencies don’t allow for governance, and the GOP establishment is all about taking & using the reins of government power.

  • Anonymous

  • Hout Bosques

YOU should study history. I lived through it.

The two parties were very different then. The Dems were an uneasy coalition between liberals scattered across the national map & southern conservatives; the Reps were the party of big business & moderate social amelioration. All through the period from WWII until the Civil Rights Act of 1964, there were efforts to park civil rights into a back drawer, from which civil rights would never actually emerge – the vehicle being one of those ridiculously retrograde do-nothing bipartisan commissions. THAT is the sort of thing LBJ was voting against through the whole period, & which JFK voted against while he was a U.S. senator. But then LBJ spent time with MLK, saw the opportunity presented by the assassination of JFK, and made his bold move. He formed a special purpose coalition of those Dem liberals & Rep moderates & used his formidable legislative skills to buy off enough Rep big business types to ram through his legislative aim of a court-enforceable civil rights bill.

Get used to it. In November half of these racist, life long politicians will be kicked out on their a$$, and we can get started putting our country back together, no thanks to people like you. Ask any actor – they all love to play the house villain.

  • Anonymous

Lol you guys bring this asinine argument all the time and I have demonstrated that it is not true. The democrats who voted against that bill are all republicans now. This is why the south is always red. Your to foolish to see this and im not going to explain this to you. Look at the stats and study them. After you are done studying them, the country was divided by north and south. No republicans in the south voted for the bill, and few democrats did. But as a percentage more democrats voted for the bill in both the south and the north. Your side continues to think your side was so pre civil rights. When in fact only the northern republicans were. I can see it now in thirty years you will claim your side was for don’t ask don’t tell.

I agree that the GOP establishment has learned that it can, and should, ignore the Tea Party. However, the establishment cannot purge itself of the Tea Party types, and those who got elected last time will probably be elected again. This is because politics really are local. After all, West spoke just as harshly while he was campaigning.

Bachmann has already announced that she will run again for the seat she still holds, and the locals, both Republican and Democrat, expect her to keep her seat.

The only difference for those two is that they will be even less effective in Washington the next time around.

Pull your head out of your ass, liberals are no strangers to being insulted, there are a dozen people on Fox News who’s job it is to do nothing but bash liberals, to say nothing of talk radio and the print media.

What I don’t expect is a standing congressman to say “if you don’t agree with me, you’re not an american, gtfo”, it’s a new low for a party that I had thought couldn’t possibly dissapoint me any more than it had already done.

Actually what’s more dispicable than him saying it, is all you people defending it. You are a liar, Cindy. The GOP was a tiny minority in Congress when the Civil Rights Act was passed. The majority of Democrats voted for it. So did the majority of Republicans. But within a few years, 99% of the Democrats who had opposed the Civil Rights Act had become Republicans, and the GOP’s electoral strategy was based on courting the racist vote.

  • Ben Dover

Ms. Ceeendi, you know of course the GOP of the 60′s is nothing like the GOP of today.  Today’s GOP is lead by the fringe right who sometimes alienate their more moderate cousins (like myself, a lifetime Republican who voted for Obama and against evangelical right wing rule).

    Question?

Do veterans who have risked their lives to defend America, but have liberal values have to get out of the country?

Do active service personnel have to get out of the country if they plan to pull the level for Obama in 2012? (keep in mind military donations to Obama went 6:1 in favor over McCain in 2008)

If no-one is allowed to criticise or question statments made by war heros, do we get to do the 2004 election all over again – where Republicans were fairly critical of a war hero?

How about the senate election where Max Cleland, a vietnam veteran who lost three of his limbs in vietnam, and yet was featured in a Republican attack ad alongside Osama Bin Laden and Saddam Hussain?

If Republicans are prepared to defend this, is there any slander or slur they wouldn’t defend? (President is a child molester? President conspires with Al Quaida? Satan votes Democrat?)

Coulter’s wrong, of course.  The Democrat Party’s blacks are far better than the Republican Party’s blacks.  You may not agree with them on every point, but they at least have some dignity, some pride, and a genuine concern for what is right.  A black Republican is a straight up wus, looking for a pat on the head, and a lucrative speaker’s fee.  West is dancing for the rich white establishment.  He’s a wothless puke.

So, for those of you that are guilty of the above mentioned remarks, what makes you any better when you spout off than when he does.

No war hero violates articles 128 and 134 of the Uniform Code of Military Justice. West got his butt saved by a CO who recommended an Article 15, if he hadn’t he would have been court martialed. Anyone who has served knows what happened with West. He is lucky he wasn’t booted out of the Army and sent to Leavenworth.

No, Mr. PC, it’s not the Republicans, it’s the Democrats.  They cannot but help themselves but to see everything that is said or done but through a racial filter. They must pander to the lowest common denominator.
    It’s all they’ve got.
Col. West has a very valid point insofar as stating that one should be rewarded in accordance with the effort they put forth, not in accordance with what they look like or how they feel about things.
    His words state the obvious…

    We should all aspire to….

We are not enemies, but friends. We must not be enemies. Though passion
may have strained it must not break our bonds of affection. The mystic
chords of memory, stretching from every battlefield and patriot grave to
every living heart and hearthstone all over this broad land, will yet
swell the chorus of the Union, when again touched, as surely they will
be, by the better angels of our nature.

LBJ signed it into law, southern racists got mad and were welcomed into the party by the GOP through its Southern Strategy.
The Republicans who voted for the Civil Rights Act were liberal Republicans, an all but extinct species. The GOP came to be dominated by unrepentant bigots like Jesse Helms and Strom Thurmond – a tradition that continues to this day.

Actually thats not even totally correct. The south was just racist. Politicians on both sides were racist. No southern republican voted for the civil rights bill. A few southern democrats did. In the north, more northern democrats voted for the civil rights bill than northern republicans. What the douche bag right always says is that it wouldn’t have passed without the vote of northern republicans. This is correct. But what they don’t look at is that none of the republicans in the south voted for the bill 0000000%. I think like 10 southern democrats did. More northern democrats voted for the bill than northern republicans. Then the south got pissed and went republican.

Well, that would depend on how you go about presenting your perception of what the truth is. Everyone has an opinion and is entitled to their opinion and to express their opinion when engaged in an argument. But you determine whether you are going to be constructive or destructive when expressing that opinion. My opinion is that a constructive dialogue will net you a civil response, and a destructive dialogue shows a lack of civility or manners.

You won’t get strong solid Conservatives on such media outlets, except when libs/progressives are out to destroy them with some latest “gotcha”.

4v1 is acceptable because having more than one lib/progressive would stop the others from getting a word in and from being able to combat all the demagoguery, lies, spin, race-baiting and other crap that libs/progressives spew in debates.

You mentioned “we” in your closing sentence.  Funny as “we” all live in a representative democracy where President Obama won the popular vote.  That is how a democracy works.  West’s view (seems yours as well) is closer to fascism or dictatorship, where dissent is crushed.

What matters in debates is that people can actually make their arguments without the whole thing degenerating into a shouting match, and the fact is that having too many liberals/progressives on the show would naturally result in that, given their tendency for demagoguery, lies, spin, fallacies and other sophistry. “One is enough!”

Forget childish notions of fairness. It reminds me of kids whining/crying “waaah it’s not fair, it’s not fair! wahhh”. ADULTS understand, however, that reality and hence the market are inherently NOT fair, and they learn to accept unfairness as an objective fact of reality. It’s only childish libs/progressives, still stuck in infantile thinking, who go on about “fairness” all the time.

I think you and I pretty much agree on the over the top rhetoric. I disliked it when Democrats used it against Bush and now Republicans against Obama, not to mention the increasingly ugly rhetoric between partisans on almost every topic. West is a huge practitioner of that rhetoric.

Until the tone becomes more civil and less strident, we are doomed to remain mired in the same mess indefinitely.

By the way, I do not believe it is racist. It is mostly sore losers who are incapable of moving forward. There is some racism involved, but that is a reflection of the society as a whole. The racism thing is an easy excuse used by both sides to avoid the actual issues, which are difficult and will require compromise to resolve.

Sadly, none of those in office or running for office will even consider it lest they  be branded traitors by their own party. Ah, what times we live in!

    Here’s some actual history.

It was LIBERAL NORTHERN and WESTERN Republicans (who have now been driven out of the Republican Party by the extremist conservatives) who voted for the CRA.

It was CONSERVATIVE SOUTHERN WHITE Democrats (who are ALL now Republicans) who voted against the CRA.

You see, Republicans used to be the LIBERAL party. (Abolitionist, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt) and Democrats used to have a southern conservative wing called the ‘Dixiecrats’ (Thurmond, Wallace). It was these southerners who created the KKK, Jim Crow Laws and Lynchings. Yet it’s the ‘liberals who fought FOR Civil Rights who are the racists?’

I find it funny how these same southern white conservatives NOW claim Lincoln as one of their own. Their Confederate Lincoln-hating grandfathers must be rolling in the graves.

I too used to be a republican until Christie Whitman became NJ’s governor. She cut income taxes by 30% and and did an end around the NJ constitution by borrowing to make up the difference. Not only that, but she also was the first NJ gov. to miss making payments into the state pension fund. Since Whitman there has been only 2 or 3 payments into the fund because her tax cuts made it all but impossible for the state to come up with the pension payments. Now our republican gov. is balancing the budget on the backs of teachers, cops and other public employees.
Well, at least he’s not illegally borrowing money. Sigh.

Excellent counter argument against these right wing revisionist historians. Did tyou hear that Tenn. wants to remove teaching about slavery in their history lessons because they don’t want the founding fathers’ images to be tarnished? The truth be damned! The KKK was not created by Thurmond or Wallace.  The KKK was created at the end of the war between  the states as a means of protecting southerners from the lovely “reconstructionists” from the north.  The fact that it later became a racist organization is why some left it.

I would like to meet those southern white conservatives who claim the racist, lying, Lincoln as one of their own.  I think someone has been yanking your ignorant chain.

As an unapologetically, unreconstructed southerner who does know just a little about southern history including being the recipient of racial violence from blacks at my high school in the early 70s due to forced integration from the feds I find the comments on this thread disparaging southerners to be juvenile and mostly ignorant.

God bless Dixie and the Constitutional Republic of America!

“Every man should endeavor to understand the meaning of subjugation
before it is too late… It means the history of this heroic struggle
will be written by the enemy; that our youth will be trained by Northern
schoolteachers; will learn from Northern school books their version of
the war; will be impressed by the influences of history and education to
regard our gallant dead as traitors, and our maimed veterans as fit
objects for derision… It is said slavery is all we are fighting for,
and if we give it up we give up all. Even if this were true, which we
deny, slavery is not all our enemies are fighting for. It is merely the
pretense to establish sectional superiority and a more centralized form

FOX news is not NEWS — learn the difference between propaganda, which is what the FOX cesspool feeds you, and reporting facts.

Let’s be clar about what you’re swallong from the FOX cesspool:

    1.  FOX is owned by Rupert “I Illegally Hack the Private Voicemail of Murdered Children” Murdoch. He does it for money, and his journalistic practices — the lowest of the low — reflect his politicas and character.

    2.  The FOX cesspool is operated by Roger Ailes, Reagain’s political propagandist.

Neitehr of the above is or favors Democrats; rather, they are all about advancing the extremist of extreme Republican agenda, in large part by trashing and lying about Democrats.

Undersatnd: a lie is not an opinion, becasue an opinion has a chance of being true.  A lie is not a trtuh — alternative or otherwise — becasue a lie is always false.

An opinion is not a fact: NEWS reports facts, not opinion, and does not burry it under opinion — opinions also having a chance of being false.

Facts are facts, and are not owned by anyone.  They are the facts no matter one’s political view.

Last but not least: extremism is no centrist, and it is never anywhere near being a majority.  It is by defeninion on the fringes, and a staistically insignificant minority view.  If it were a reasonable and sane view, the majority would hold it, istead of relegating it to the fringes.

  • jnagarya

When Democrat LBJ — who shepharded the Civil Rights Act of 1964 through Congress — signed it into law, he stated — correctly — that it would result in the loss by the Democratic party of the South for a generation.

He was correct: all those in the Democratic party who opposed the Act and supported segregation, Jim Crow, and white supremacists, responded to Nixon’s “Southern Strategy”: they became Republicans.

That’s why it’s right-wingers — Republicans — such as Ron and Rant Paul who OPPOSE the Civil Rights Act of 1964.

Here’s a history lesson for you:

The Continental Congress was driven by the Liberals — primarily John Adams of Massachusetts-Bay — to declare independence from Britain.

The Conservatives — among whom you count yourself — opposed declaring independence — until they got what they wanted in exchange for their support:

    Preservation of slavery.

So either stop the lying, or stop pretending you are moral, letr alone more-moral-than-thou: your position, encoded racism though it be, is unacceptable, and was rejected, finally, in the early 1960s.

  • jnagarya

Did you know that in the 1950′s, LBJ, as senator, voted against civil rights legislation?_____

    Substantiate that claim.

    We knew you couldn’t.

Meanwhile, it was DEMOCRAT LBJ who sheparaded the Civil Rights Act of 1964 through Congress, and signed it.

As he did the Voting Rights Act of 1965.

You far-right fringers, where all the segregations and white supremactists congregate as the Republican “base,” are not going to get anywhere in your efforts to co-opt the issue and thus claim false legitimate ground for repeal of the Act.  Too many of us know the history first hand, and are not going to cease exposing your for the racists you are.

And that includes they poorly disguised smears of President Obama aws being “the Affirmative Action President” — without a shred of evidence rfor that lie, and the “Food Stamp President” (when in fact “Food Stamps” no longer exist) in effort to remind that Republican “base” that he is, in your hateful eyes, insufficiently white.

Your racist politics or old and readily recognized for what they are, regardless your self-deluding belief that you are able to repackage them in a wway that will fool those who know the history better than do you.

  • jnagarya

The KKK was created after the Civil War, in the South.  It had its peak in the 1920s.

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 was not enacted diuring the 19th Century, or during the 1920s.

Your ignorance of history — and especially rule of law — is as unsurprising as is typical of the “South Shall Rise Again” Civil War revisionsists who deny the issue was slavery.  But you can’t live down the express statements of every Senator of everyseceeding state that the reason for seceding was the issue of slavery.

Or live down the Constitution of the Confederate States of America, which was essentially identical to the US Constitution — except for two provisions:

    1.  Prohibition of the enactment of any laws that would adversely affect the institution of slavery.

    2.  Amending the constitution in any way that would adversely affect the institution of slavery.

In short: some of us know the history; you racists/liars are not among us.

  • jnagarya

The Founders were Liberals.  Slavery was preserved at the insistence of the Conservatives.

  • jnagarya

No, Mr. PC, it’s not the Republicans, it’s the Democrats.  They cannot but help themselves but to see everything that is said or done but through a racial filter. They must pander to the lowest common denominator._____

Does the above not characterize the “lowest common denominator” as being the African-Americans to which Democrats are allegedly pandering?

  • jnagarya

Among reactionaries, racists, and Republicans, most of the time that being a redundancy, lying in place of knowledge — ignorance — is a badge of pride.  It is they, after all, who, as anti-elitist elitists, hate legitimate elitists because legitimate elitists actually know stuff that is factal, legitimate, and worth knowing.

And because said elitists are a threat to their house of cards confabulations.

  • jnagarya

The GOP today has pushed not only all liberals, but also all right-of-liberal moderates out of the party.  Today’s GOP is controlled, as Republican Christie Todd Whitman said, by its nut arm.  That which is traditionally called “lunatic fringe” becasue it is two things:

    1.  Lunatic; and,

    2.  Fringe.

It’s controlled by the totally wacked John Birch Society/Teadupes, McCarthyite paranoids, political illiterates who hide behind and corrupt the term “conservative,” segregationists, “Jim Crow”-ists, white supremacists, andti-American gun-nuts, and Neo-Nazis.

Need I mention the religioinut fringe that hates the First Amendment because it allows for more than their greed-fueled pro-violence “Christian” “religion”?

  • jnagarya

LBJ was fulfilling JFK’s Civil Rights agenda.  Which is why, beginning with Reagan, there has been a concerted and continous effort to smear and discredit JFK — while being comforted by the additional fact that JFK isn’t alive to defend himself against the smears.

That’s the way Republicans like it: strong on defense; wrapping themselves in the flag, starting wars, and sending everyone but themselves to fight and die in them.

Strong on defense: shoveling hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars to the defense industry, which then turns around and contributes a significant percentage of those tax dollars to Republican political campaigns — while Republicans oppose taxpayer-funded elections.

  • jnagarya

Do you know the name of the Jew who refused to swear a states loyalty oath to God? and why?_____

This was actually a relatively prominent and uncontroversial issue, and it was the Quakers, specifically, who lead the efofrt, and in keeping with which the states amended their constitutions to afford them an oath which met their religious conscience requirements.  Specificallty, the issue was that the non-Quaker religiofanatics required everyone elected or appointed to public office to swear that one believed the “bible” to be divinely inspired.  The Quakers didn’t believe that.

  • jnagarya

In short: it was Liberals who prooposed and voted for the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 — which is why the hatred for Liberals is so overwhelming and constantly spewed by the segregationsits, white supremacists, McArthyites, John Birchers, and Neo-Nazis, who hide behind and corrupt the term “conservative”.

John Birchers’ view: “Sure Hitler killed six million Jews.  But at least he wasn’t a Communist.”

Before Hitler went after the Jews he targetted and exterminated, among others, Liberals.

So we know why FOX constantly spews hatred at “Liberals”: they are not extremists; and they represent the progressive views of the Founders who were for independence, for equality, and opposed to slavery.

  • jnagarya

The US is a democratic republic.

As for the “violence” to which you were subjected by blacks during the 1970s:

I’ll bet it was nowhere near the degree of violence of the lynching of blacks engaged in by your relatives up to and including during the 1960s.

But it’s so unfair that you were subjected to an inconsequential taste of the white Southern specialty: violence aganist those deserving of it to keep them in line: all who are insufficiently white.

  • K M

That says it all about libtard logic….

Well, yeah, we created it, but…..

  • jnagarya

The Framers expressly said they were about founding a powerful, central Federal gov’t (read “The Federalist”).  Among the Framers approving were many Southerners.  So those who seceded not only violated the Constitution (US Con., Art. I., S. 10, C. 1.  No State shall enter into any . . . Confederation . . . .”) — which is treason — but also showed their opposition to the Framers themselves.

In addition to which, the seceding states were expressly clear, in thee words of each and every one of their Senators explaining their “reason” for seceeding, that it was becasue of slavery.

On top of which, the Constitution of the Confederate States of America, whereas otherwise virtually identical to that of the US, included towo specific provisions –

    1.  Prohibited the enacting of any law adversely effecting the institutiojn of slavery; and,

    2.  Prohibited any amendment of the constitution which would adversely affect the institution of slavery.

So all the lying by Southern racists on the point are exactly that: lies.  Those facts are ineradicable and undeniable, except, as concerns the latter, by baldfaced lying.

And before we hear the anti-American claim that there’s a “right” to secede:

“Art. IV., S. 3, C. 1.  New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union . . . .”

In order for a “state” to become a member of the Union, it must petition Congress; and must fulfill the legal requirements stipulated by Constitution and Congress toward that end.  But even then it does not become a member by simply deciding on its own to become so.  It is the Union — in Congress assembled — that says yay or nay to the wannabe member’s petition/s for membership.

If there were a legal process of secession, it would be the reverse of that process.

  • K M

Nice try.  You are as bad as the global warming clones that say record cold is caused by warming…

  • K M

They have said, MLK would “be” a Republican today. Since, the looney left has gone so far off the tracks…..

  • jnagarya

Yes: it was the LIBERALS who wrote, enacted, and signed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (and teh Voting Rights Act of 1965) into law.  That’s why those who claim it was enacted by Republicans, against the opposition of a racist Democratic party, hate Liberals.

  • jnagarya

    Of Liberals.

  • jnagarya

The First Amendment pretoects the rights of conscience, belief, and speech.  That incules the right to believe and preach “Communism” — no less than it  protects the right to believe in and preach about the lawless as being instead “free market”.

As for the “class warfare” lie: the 14th Amendment secures equality for all, not ownership of all by the top 1 per cent — of which you are not a member, and never will be, and never will get anything from it — and slavery for the other 99 per cent.

So, yes: you John Birch anti-Americans, by rejecting the 14th Amendment, are not only staunch segregationist racists, and white supermacists — the tradition is to call those who oppose segregation and “Jim Crow” “Communists” — but also domestic enemies who hate the Constitution and the gov’t erected thereupon.

  • jnagarya

    Neo-Nazis.

Barak Obama was legitimately elected by a comfortable margin.

The Bush*t criminal enterprise bullied and stole its way into power, and proceeded to lower the moral standing of the US to that of Hitler — illegally invading and occupying a non-threatening sovereign nation by means of lies — and to the level of torturer Saddam Hussein by implementing torture as official state terrorist policy.

‘Course, their torturing of alleged torturers for allegedly being torturers was compassionately intended to reduce the incidence of torture.

  • jnagarya

The minority wants to “take back” the country from whom?

    From the majority.

And that is directly opposed to the Constitution.

    That minority is treasonous.

  • Genie Smith

The USA is a Constitutional Republic, and always has been.  You are mistaken.

None of my ancestors owned slaves, so your ignorant assumption about me is incorrect as well.

On that day a friend’s father was nearly beaten to death on the front lawn of our school by blacks who were being egged on by white students from somewhere north of the Mason-Dixon line who suddenly appeared as students at our school at the exact moment that the government shut down the 2 black high schools in our town and forced all of us into one building which we had already outgrown due to the influx of black students who were welcomed before the feds decided we were not reacting to their orders fast enough.  The main reason at that time for the segregated schools was merely one of convenience as the neighborhoods were drawn along racial lines as many neighborhoods still are today, and those black kids who were uprooted from their schools were rightly angry.  They were taking their anger out on the wrong people.

Your use of sarcasm indicates your level of ignorance of the facts.  You were not there, and you were only shown on TV just what the government and the media wanted you to see much like today.

Anyone who says that slavery and racism are not wrong is a sick individual.  The broad brush you and your equally ignorant friend, Eric, paint southerners with is typical of someone who does not have any idea of what he is talking about.

I suppose that Jefferson Davis who adopted a black boy and raised him as his own was a racist, and I suppose that you have never read about the discussions held about when to free the slaves in the south before good ol’ honest Abe issued his Emancipation Edict to the southern states over which he had no legal authority.  Purely a political ploy to keep the north in line with his war policies?  No, of course you haven’t.  I suppose that Robert E. Lee is considered a racist too although he is to date the only man in history who has graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point with no demerits.  It truly takes a person lacking in any moral character to achieve that accomplishment, doesn’t it?

Why don’t you take a look at a history book once in a while, and seriously, stop believing the liberal blather you have apparently been brainwashed by?

(hint) Choose one of the many excellent histories of the South written by southerners,or perhaps some first hand accounts written in diaries, and letters from the era which have been published.  General Patrick Cleburne was absolutely correct in his prophecy regarding how the history of that awful war would be portrayed by the victors.

If it makes you feel so much more superior to mock and disparage all the people of  a region of the country then I really feel sorry for both of you.  What pathetic little lives you must lead.

God bless Dixie, and God bless the Constitutional Republic of America!

  • Anonymous

You are correct. JFK, MLK, and Bobby Kennedy were all slain for their human rights agenda. Whenever good men stand up for the rights of others, evil men attempt to destroy them. They smear them or put them out of office with lies and recriminations. Yet, they are so afraid, they need bigger and bigger bombs to protect themselves. They worry about the proliferation of nuclear bombs, yet, they have more than anyone else. They don’t realize that others want them to protect themselves from us. I think whatever goes around, comes around, eventually. Maybe they do too. Maybe that’s why they are so fearful. Vengeance is mine saith the Lord, I will repay. I happen to believe that.

  • Genie Smith

Interesting copy and paste.  I have read this information, and have also read conflicting information.  In the end it’s who one chooses to believe, isn’t it?  And, what’s even more satisfying is that I didn’t lie and I am not a racist.

Alabama is my home.  I was born here,  but my father was in the US Army.  I was born at Ft.McClellan.  The first 12 years of my life were spent in an environment where being a racist was not an option, nor was it anything that ever occurred to me.  I lived on military bases, and went to school with people of all races.  My father was a sergeant.  His platoons had members of all races.  He could not risk the integrity or the safety of his platoon by any hint of racism.  When we moved back to Alabama I was in “culture shock” because I had never been exposed to racism, and I have to tell you that it was equally ugly on both sides.  Unless you were there and lived it you have no right to accuse an entire region of people of being racists.

BTW, we moved back to Alabama because my “racist” southern father who had spent his whole adult life defending your ability to make a complete ass out of yourself in a public forum was shipped off to die in Vietnam by LBJ.

So, you know what, I am done here.  You have been wrong in your assumptions about me, and you would rather mock and ridicule than to have an intelligent discussion with someone.

Enjoy the rest of your pathetic, hate filled life.

Hmmm, Dana Perino doesn’t know what she is talking about.

Allen West who was court martialed but was let go of the Army instead should kiss the president’s hand for saying this despicable words.  He is not fit to be an American.

  • Чёрт Возьми

I don’t like West but–he was not court marshaled. He was told his options were to retire or face disciplinary actions that would be short of a court marshal, but certain to end his career anyway.

  • Tamra Burgess

Allen West is a war criminal first and foremost! he wasn’t court-martialed out because of “acquaintences” but he’s still a terrorist and a disgrace to all those who honorably served. so Perino and the like bringing up his “military” service to excuse his behavior is the equivalent of bringing up Tim McVeigh’s war service because Allen West IS capable of carrying out the same acts as McVeigh given he speaks the same words as McVeigh. I won’t be surprised at all when West opens fire inside the U.S. House of Representatives. he’s, again, a TERRORIST and can only do what TERRORISTS do best: violence inflicted upon others for the purpose of promoting ideology

You can argue about this all day, but none of you will ever change your minds no matter how many facts the other side presents.  Liberals hate conservatives and conservatives hate liberals.  It does not matter what happens that will never change.  To stop this exact kind of arguing in Congress, I think it is time that the U.S. splits into two separate countries…the Liberal States and the Conservative States.  The Liberals would then be free to tax and spend their country into oblivion with no objections.  They can have their government supply all needs to all citizens…until they go bankrupt.

The conservatives can, if they will stay true to their beliefs, force their government not to spend anymore money than they take in (have a balanced budget), have zero trade deficit, have a low flat tax rate where EVERYONE pays “their fair share” (not just those whose efforts have made them wealthy), obtain their own energy resources and free the small business owners to prosper and provide jobs.

Since we would be two different countries, no money would flow between the two except in trade.  After a few decades, we would sew who has the right fiscal policies, which has the happiest and most free population with a since of pride developed by making it on their own.
