This Happened: Ed Schultz Mocks Mitt Romney With Goodnight Moon Parody

Following former Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty‘s dis of MSNBC’s The Ed Show during last night’s New Hampshire primary coverage, host Ed Schultz dedicated a bedtime story to him — a satire of Goodnight Moon entitled Goodnight Mitt lambasting his chosen candidate Mitt Romney. “In the great 12 million dollar beach house, there was a telephone and 250 million bucks and a picture of greedy multi-millionaire schmucks!” Schultz read.

“There were three little capitalist cronies and a bowl full of pious baloney and a quiet old lady who was whispering ‘don’t privatize Social Security!’” Schultz continued. “Good night to unions, good night jobs, good night clean air, good night public education, good night immigration, good night Wall Street regulation, good night middle class, good night auto czar, good night dog on the roof of the car.”

“Good night, Roe v Wade, good nightmare range equality, good night to the old lady whispering ‘don’t privatize Social Security!’ Good night Medicaid, good night Medicare, good night American dreams everywhere. Sweet dreams, T-paw, sleep just as good as your presidential campaign. Nighty-night!”

But, but, but…Griffin keeps telling us MSNBC doesn’t have an agenda.  Honestly COMCAST…you CAN (and SHOULD) do better than this level of BS on the MSDNCBS network…or as Chris Matthews likes to call is:  MBSNBC

  • Hyperbolic Chalkboard

trying to be the next KO? dont read thurber!! i hated those segments!

  • http://twitter.com/DolefulLions Doleful Lions

Why don’t we just say that MSNBC has an agenda and so does Fox and be done with it. Both are equally as worthless.

    Perpetual rating suck.
Just one of the 12 or so reasons!

Do not allow cheek swabs. Bite the finger off. Just do it.

  • Bobby Brady

Fox does have an agenda, that’s for sure.

Fox’s agenda is to provide people with the news stories that all of the network news channels fail, for some reason, to provide to their viewers.

M-BS-NBC really doesn’t have a purpose since CNN and the Network News channels already give the liberal slant to the news, which is why M-BS-NBC fails.

    Too funny!

  • Pablo

It’s already been done and it cannot be improved upon. Don’t even bother trying, Ed.

This article is seven years old and they had Fox pegged then.   http://www.turnoffyourtv.com/networks/foxnews/foxnews.html

Did you actually link to an article that starts off with an “alleged quote” from a station manager for a some local Fox affiliate in Tampa Bay?

This explains the Fix News fixation of the left.

If you lived in a State that only had Chinese restaurants, you can bet that the first and only pizza shop will be a huge success.

Just as Bobby Brady explained above, Fox has the only market share for people with right of center views.

Yeah, well here’s two more that might help.  http://www2.ljworld.com/news/2009/oct/04/fox-news-inaccuracy-class-itself/       http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/opinion/52244297-82/news-fox-leonard-murdoch.html.csp     Fox is what is called pseudo-journalism comparable to the WWE and Legititmate Professional sports. Nothing more, nothing less. But very good at it.  I rest my case.

There is a market that caters exclusively to anti Fox people, and I suppose you’re part of their demographic.

That’s fine, there’s nothing wrong with it.

If you can demagogue an entire network as evil – everything the network says is wrong.  It’s not a good way to use one’s critical thinking skills.

Anyone watch Rachel tonight? The Nerd was strong in her this evening. Rather than The Snark. My days are full of suspense, waiting to see which will out, The Nerd or The Snark.

Remember when Glenn Beck was an “unstable mentally ill circus clown” because he used all sorts of zany props on his show? And now Ed Schultz brings a “Republican-hating beagle” onto the show and reads from a children’s book and it makes him a genius…?

Nice reading Ed, unfortunately this will become a subject of comedy clip shows in the next week or so…

    That was Really Funny!

WHEN the GOP takes over both the White House and full Congress next year, the first order of business should be to designate NBC as a HATE GROUP, and smear-merchants like Shultz and Matthews as “enemies of the state”.

  • ClarkFL

Is he gonna start reading Thurber next, like Olbermann did?

  • ClarkFL

No. Republicans shouldn’t do to them what Democrats would like to do to Republicans. The White House tried to single Fox out of the press pool, but that got a backlash real quick from the other pool reporters and their organizations. As stupid as the stuff that MSNBC puts out, they have a right to say it, and then get little viewership because of it.

I’ll give Ed this, it is vastly to his credit, as a broadcaster and moral being in the universe, he is utterly lacking in those kinds of pretensions. Offhand, I can’t think of anyone in the blabbermouth-on-cable industry with those kinds of pretensions. Other than KO, that is.

  • Holistic

Poor Ed, he has nothing original to offer!

  • http://newsbusters.org/ AliveStiIIKickin

Hahahaha!!!….Pathetic, Special Ed uses a script….just like Obama and his teleprompter.
Without them neither can utter a word.
    “Resist we much….”
    LMAO!!!

I am not calling Fox News as evil. They are a purely political arm of the Republican Party. I know that, the majority of others know that and you know that as well.  As the one article says all news networks, newspapers, etc have a political slant one way or the other. But Fox is in a class by itself. There have been like what? 6 or 7 studies now that show Fox viewers as the most uninformed on current events. Those are not opinions. Those are facts. http://www.triplepundit.com/2011/11/viewers-fox-news-be-uninformed-about-current-events-including-climate-change/comment-page-1/#comment-93897    And then there are websites that document their actual lies. http://foxnewslies.net/.   So those are the facts. People enjoy entertainment and Fox is very good at that.
