Saturday Night Live Cold Open Rips Ted Cruz Over Big Bird Vaccine Outrage

Saturday Night Live ripped Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) over his criticism of Sesame Street’s Big Bird promoting Covid vaccines for children.

In a “Newsmax Kids” parody Sesame Street episode, the show poked fun at Cruz, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and podcaster Joe Rogan.

“Today’s episode is brought to you by Q,” Greene said while holding an AR-15. “Not the letter, the man. He will tell us when JFK, Jr. — who is alive — will reveal himself and help President Trump reclaim his rightful throne.”

Cruz, played by Aidy Bryant, then lamented about his experience being “mocked for attacking Big Bird on Twitter, simply because I’m a human senator and he is an eight foot tall fictional bird.”

The show then rolled out Big Bird to talk about an adverse he had to the vaccine. Big Bird remarked, “Maybe the vaccine gave me Covid!”

“Yes, that sounds correct, but let’s ask our resident medical expert, Joe Rogan,” Cruz replied.

Pete Davidson, playing Rogan, told Big Bird: “Here’s some zinc, ayahuasca, and horse medicine,” the latter of which is a reference to ivermectin.

(While Rogan took the human version of ivermectin in an effort to treat his Covid, there are reports of people trying to use the horse version. While neither have been shown to be effective at treating Covid, the horse version of the drug can be dangerous for human consumption).

Cruz then brought up the letters C, R, and T — or Critical Race Theory — saying he thinks “it stands for Caucasian Rights Trampled.”
