WATCH: View Hosts and Jasmine Crockett Dance to a Viral Song Based on Congresswoman’s ‘Butch Body’ Insult of MTG
The hosts of The View welcomed Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) on Thursday by playing a remix song based on her recent viral insult of Rep. Majorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) where she attacked the congresswoman for having a “bleached blonde, bad-built, butch body.”
The comment was made at a House Oversight Committee hearing earlier this month which quickly descended into chaos after Greene mocked Crockett and her “fake eyelashes,” leading to Crockett responding and others like Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) quickly condemning Greene’s insult.
Crockett earned massive applause on The View as she was introduced after a series of clips played, the last of which was her comeback to Greene.
“You went viral for putting Marjorie Taylor Greene in her place, and there have been countless remixes, which I play often,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said before playing what she called the “song of the summer.”
A pop tune then played which used Crockett’s “butch body” insult repeatedly.
Goldberg could be seen dancing at the table to the tune, and Crockett clapped when Goldberg brought up the “remixes” out there. They later closed out Crockett’s segment by playing the song again.
Crockett responded to critics of her trademarking the insult and merchandising it, saying that the phrase was trademarked by her campaign and the money is “so I can help save our democracy.” The congresswoman accused Trump of peddling merchandise, including Bibles and shoes, for his own “self” interest.
“There was a demand. I’m a business major who also was a lawyer so the two things came together,” she said. “This is about making sure we can raise the moneys. It’s so that I can help save our democracy.”
