‘F**king Unbelievable!’ Jim Acosta Gets On-Scene Reactions to Trump’s White House Demolition

Podcast host and independent journalist Jim Acosta took a field trip to the White House to get some strong reactions to President Donald Trump’s ongoing demolition project at the People’s House.
Since taking office for a second time, Trump has overseen massive changes to the physical features of the White House, including a gold-drenched Oval Office overhaul, a paved-over lawn in the Rose Garden, and now a major demolition in the East Wing to make way for a massive ballroom.
In fact, an unnamed White House official told NBC News on Wednesday that the entire East Wing will be demolished and “rebuilt” — contrary to previous assurances.
On Wednesday’s episode of The Jim Acosta Show, the host went down to the White House to get reactions from critics and supporters alike, and revealed that one DC resident who didn’t want to be on camera told him the scene was “f**king unbelievable!”:
JIM ACOSTA: Well, I’m back here at the scene of the crime This is where Donald Trump is tearing down part of the East Wing of the White House so he can build a massive gaudy gilded ballroom to the tune of 250 million dollars.
And I wanted to come down here today and just hear what people had to say about it. And in the words of one DC resident, “f**king unbelievable!”.
Yeah, hi, how you doing?
TRUMP CRITIC: I’m not one for symbolism or historical monuments whatsoever. I’m Canadian and American, I’m a dual citizen. This breaks my heart.
It’s so symbolic and so indicative of what this man has done to his country. I don’t know how anymore, whether you’re right, left, in the middle cannot be heartbroken by that. That’s the truth.
TRUMP SUPPORTER: It’s being funded privately. It’s not being funded with our tax dollars. I’m fine with that. If any other extra funds that are needed, I think they were way over budget with a lot of other things that we’re spending money on. But if we can get things updated, upgraded, save our tax dollar, then I’m okay with that, yeah.
JIM ACOSTA: It doesn’t bug you that the President of the United States is going to start tearing down to the White House…
TRUMP SUPPORTER: I think other presidents have actually done upgrades and different things to the White House over the years.
JIM ACOSTA: Not in a long time, not since Harry Truman.
TRUMP SUPPORTER: Well, I think that there was a basketball court that was put in. I think there was swimming pools put in as well.
JIM ACOSTA: Is this the same as a basketball court to you?
TRUMP CRITIC: No, I mean, so, you know.
JIM ACOSTA: I included the last gentleman there because you had to hear, I mean, he’s okay with this and he’s putting out the talking points that they’re putting out on Fox and on conservative media.
He later on told me he was a libertarian who doesn’t always agree with Trump.
