The View Returns from Summer Break With a Scalding Takedown of RFK Jr: ‘Playing Russian Roulette’ With Kids’ Lives

The View co-hosts returned from summer break Monday to savage Health and Human Services secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and the effort to eliminate vaccine mandates for children in Florida.

Kennedy appeared before a Senate committee last week where he sparred with senators upset over his anti-vaccine activities at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Kennedy’s appearance came as Florida’s Surgeon General, Dr. Joseph Ladapo, ended all vaccine mandates for school children in his state.

“They’re playing Russian roulette with the lives…of children! Let’s start with the kids,” Whoopi Goldberg said. “Let’s start with children. Because any school, any time you go to a school, it is a — who knows what’s in there?”

“A petri dish,” added Sara Haines.

GOLDBERG: They sneeze, everybody gets sick. You think you’re dying, you know, but you’re not, you just got hit by kid stuff,” Goldberg continued. “We know that this happens. There are reasons that people put these mandates in place. Now, you want to get rid of all of them. You’re basically saying, “Let’s see what happens if your kid goes to school with other kids.”

SUNNY HOSTIN: And what about the teachers in the school?

GOLDBERG: And your grandparents, who are elderly, are in with your grandkids. So now, you’re saying, y’all don’t care.

JOY BEHAR: Why did four doctors, four MDs in the Senate…vote to put [Kennedy] through? Bill Cassidy, who should know better. John Barrasso, who’s attached at the hip to [Mitch] McConnell and [Donald] Trump…and Roger Marshall and Rand Paul. They should know better. These are MDs!

HAINES: [Kennedy] told Cassidy, he said, “I won’t touch the vaccines.”

ALYSSA FARAH GRIFFIN: He lied at those hearings.

“These are things that you can control,” Goldberg told the audience about getting their kids vaccinated. “You can’t control a lot of stuff that’s happening, but these are the little things that you can take in hand and grab and say, I’m not putting up with this BS. I’m just not going to do it. This is on us.”
