Trump Makes Jaw-Dropping Quip About Charlie Kirk and ‘Hate Speech’ in Fox News Interview

President Donald Trump made a jaw-dropping quip about “hate speech” and slain activist Charlie Kirk during a new Fox News interview.

The aftermath of the stunning Kirk killing has prompted what many see as an assault on free speech. Trump Attorney General Pam Bondi has drawn criticism for threatening to go after people over “hate speech” — including mockery or celebration of Kirk’s assassination.

Amid Trump administration-backed efforts to claim scalps over the issue, late-night host Jimmy Kimmel was suspended under intimidation from Trump and FCC chief Brendan Carr, and Trump is designating Antifa a “terrorist organization.”

On Thursday’s edition of Fox News Channel’s The Story with Martha MacCallum, anchor Martha MacCallum confronted Trump over the criticism.

When she invoked a quote from Kirk, Trump interjected with a stunning quip:

MARTHA MACCALLUM: You said millions and millions of dollars going towards some of these groups for agitation the other day. They’re agitators.

Who are they? And where is the money coming from? Is it foreign entities?

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Yeah, you’re gonna find out and we’re gonna find out in great detail and it surprised me that Biden wouldn’t have done it because it really became hot over the last three four years.

It surprised me that Biden, wouldn’t do it, but then as I got to know him. First of all he didn’t call the shots he wasn’t on the shots but as we got to see what was happening in Biden’s group Antifa plays perfectly for them.

You know absolutely perfectly. But it’s a terrorist organization in my opinion and we’re going to find out all those questions are going to be answered.

MARTHA MACCALLUM: Charlie said, you know, that there was no such thing as hate speech. He obviously– you know no one anticipated what would happen to Charlie.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: Yeah–. He might not be saying that now!

MARTHA MACCALLUM: But you have always been in favor of free speech. So do you have concerns about–.

You know some people look at this, and your critics will say, well–. This crackdown is a crackdown on free speech.

PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: You know, it’s interesting. I watch your show and I watch others and I see people saying things. They’re crazy.
