‘What Is With Pronouns?’ Biden Campaign Pounces On ‘Confused’ Trump Over Rants And ‘Slurring’ In Speech To Christians

President Joe Biden’s presidential campaign pounced on a series of misspeaks, rants, “slurring” and “religious extremism” by former President Donald Trump in a speech to a Christian group.

On Thursday night, Trump — who once quoted famous Bible duo the “Two Corinthians” at Liberty University — gave a speech to the National Religious Broadcasters International Christian Media Convention at the Gaylord Opryland in Nashville, Tennessee.

In real-time during that speech, the Biden-Harris HQ account followed along on Twitter/X and pounced on Trump over a number of recurring themes that mirror areas Democrats see as political vulnerabilities for Trump. It comes after reports that President Biden wants allies to be more aggressive about “the crazy shit that comes out of Trump’s mouth.”

One of those themes was “Confused Trump” as the Biden campaign seized on a series of moments with brief clips portraying Trump as a “slurring” and rambling gaffe machine.

The reference to “Knocker fields” came late in the rant in which Trump complained about migrants overrunning “Steak Mountain.”

They singled out another short clip, writing “Trump says pronouns, which are a basic part of English grammar, are ‘sick’ if ‘you study it'” — part of a longer passage in which he attacked trans inclusion and vowed to protect God by mandating AM radio:

There’s enough filth on our airwaves. American families need a haven where our children can be taught our values, not have radical values forced upon them, the families and the children. We don’t want that. Our children hear enough about pronouns. What is with pronouns? If you really study it and look at it, it’s it’s sick. It’s sick.

Biden’s campaign singled out the last few seconds of a lengthy story about moving the U.S. embassy in Israel to Jerusalem:

In another tweet, the campaign posted a short clip of “Trump, slurring: Evangeli… cal… e-van-gellists” from a longer section in which he thanked the organization but had trouble with the word “evangelicals”:

The other prominent theme was “religious extremism” in the form of posts about abortion, marriage equality, birth control, and prayer mandates:
