Trump Scoffs at Zohran Mamdani Comparison: ‘I’m a Much Better Looking Person’

Hot or not? President Donald Trump voted “not” when it comes to Zohran Mamdani, especially when comparing the New York City mayoral frontrunner to himself.
Trump, in a teaser clip for his interview on 60 Minutes on Sunday night, took exception to correspondent Norah O’Donnell saying there are a lot of similarities between Trump and the 34-year-old Democratic Socialist. And one big difference, according to Trump: the president is more handsome.
“Some people have compared him to a left-wing version of you — charismatic, breaking the old rules. What do you think about that?” O’Donnell asked.
“Well, I think I’m a much better looking person than him,” Trump responded.
Trump also said he preferred to label Mamdani a “communist,” rather than a Democratic Socialist. “He’s far worse than a socialist,” Trump said.
Mamdani has campaigned on ideas like freezing the rent and free bus rides. Trump has mocked him for his ideas previously and bestowed the nickname “my little communist” on him.
President Barack Obama, on the other hand, seems to love Mamdani, calling his campaign “impressive” and offering to be a “sounding board” during a phone call reported by The New York Times on Saturday.
Mamdani is the frontrunner in the NYC mayoral race, but his lead over Andrew Cuomo (D) and Curtis Sliwa (R) is slipping, according to one new poll. The Atlas Intel survey found Mamdani has a 6.6 point lead over Cuomo, his smallest edge since July, with the support of 40.6% of voters.
That was significantly closer than a Fox News poll from Thursday, showing Mamdani had a 47% to 31% advantage over Cuomo. While early voting in NYC has been going on, the final day to vote is on Tuesday.
