Bill Clinton Thanks Trump for Donating to Foundation Before GOP ‘Got the Memo’

Given his current obsession, it was no surprise that Jon Stewart opened his interview with former President Bill Clinton last night by asking this “obvious” first question: “I know you’ve been a Hillary supporter for quite some time. Does Donald Trump’s entry into the race in any way complicate that or change the way that you’re viewing your vote?”
After calling that a “hard question” to answer, Clinton implied that as the spouse of a presidential candidate he can’t really say what he wants to say about Trump. “He has been, believe it or not, uncommonly nice to Hillary and me,” the former president said.
That includes not only naming Bill as the “best” president of the last four, but also donating north of $100,000 to the Clinton Foundation.
“He thought Hillary was a good senator from New York after 9/11,” Clinton said. “And he’s one of the many Republicans who supported our foundation before they got the memo.”
Clinton went on to call Trump’s line about Mexican “rapists” entering the country not only “bizarre” but fundamentally “wrong” given the fact that over the last several years net immigration from Mexico was zero.
