Brian Kilmeade: After NYT Op-Ed Trump Should Increase White House Roles of His Kids
Objectively speaking, yesterday was as bad a news day for President Donald Trump as any in his time in the White House. Amid a torrent of bad news revealed in Bob Woodward’s new book, the NY Times published an Op-Ed provided by an unnamed Senior White House Staffer that admitted that he or she (along with others) were actively working to undermine President Trump’s efforts in the White House.
Fox & Friends is not only the most watched cable news morning show, it’s ostensibly the favorite cable news show in the White House. Today they covered Trump’s terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day yesterday, and co-host Brian Kilmeade offered an interesting solution to President Trump to deal with his staffer’s insolence admitted in the op-ed column.
“If I were the president, this is what I would do,” Kilmeade adding that he would increase the roles of the people that he could trust: Tump’s family. He then listed Jared Kushner, Ivanka, “if you want to bring Eric in,” and suggested that the president should “put them in on almost all key meetings.”
Yes he argued that Trump still needs his foreign policy experts, domestics experts, secretaries of the treasury, but “have your kids there who know you and understand there is a reason why he became a multi-millionaire billionaire.”
Suggesting to a sitting president that the answer to White House dysfunction is to increase the influence of unelected family members is concerning to any critical thinker. The likelihood that Trump was watching and considering this banana republic advice is frightening.
