CBS Evening News Awkwardly Addresses Allegations Against Suspended Charlie Rose

It’s always awkward to cover serious allegations against a colleague, but to CBS News’ credit, tonight’s evening newscast did address the bombshell Washington Post report about Charlie Rose.

“The wave,” Anthony Mason began, “of sexual abuse allegations we’ve been reporting, from Hollywood to Washington, has now touched CBS News.”

The WaPo report features accounts from eight women alleging harassment and groping from the longtime TV host.

Prior to CBS’ on-air report, the network suspended Rose, who served as co-host on CBS This Morning, which was addressed in the report.
