Fox & Friends Diner Admits She ‘Wouldn’t Vote for a Woman’ and Calls Nikki Haley ‘Menopausal’
Fox & Friends was hyping up the big primary vote on Tuesday, and reporter Will Cain was in Texas talking to some voters in a diner when the news broke that former First Lady Michelle Obama was not running for president. Cain asked a woman for her reaction, which was first “Thank God!” before she launched into a tirade against women and claimed GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley was “probably menopausal.”
The whole segment began with the “breaking news” about Obama, who was the subject of a baseless conspiracy theory that involved the former First Lady swooping in to claim the nomination at the Democratic convention. Co-host Ainsley Earhardt asked Cain, “Is there a woman in there that we can get her reaction?”
Cain promptly found a woman:
Cain: NBC just reported that Michelle Obama has said she will not run for president.
Woman: Thank God! Yes!
Cain: Ainsley said, “I would love the reaction from from a woman in the crowd.”
Woman: I wouldn’t vote for a woman. And especially, you know, Nikki Haley, I’m just going to say this, she’s probably menopausal. We don’t need that.
Cain implied that the woman said something off-screen about voting for people “regardless of their gender, just the right person for the job for America.” And that must have been what Earhardt was agreeing with when she said:
The lady in the diner is correct. You don’t want a woman that is not the right woman. Look at the stark contrast of Nikki Haley and [Vice President] Kamala Harris. Yeah, two totally different individuals that could be president one day. And they’re completely different. So you don’t, she’s absolutely right. And you don’t want a woman who doesn’t want to be president running for president.
It sounded like this woman didn’t want any woman to run for president, but if this is how we justify a conspiracy theory as actual news, then okay! You go on.
