Glenn Beck’s Future At Fox May Be In Question, But His Ratings Aren’t: They’re Way Up
Cable news ratings, March 22, 2011:
•Glenn Beck‘s been the subject of intense media speculation surrounding a potential separation from Fox News–a story fueled in part by Beck’s softer-than-usual showing in the overnight ratings. Well, all that speculation may have helped Beck jump right back to the top tier of cable news performers, finishing Tuesday night with 656,000 viewers 25-54, just 1,000 viewers behind Sean Hannity. Beck dominated the 5 p.m. hour, with ratings in the 25-54 demo that were higher than those of CNN, MSNBC and HLN combined.
•At 10 p.m., CNN’s Anderson Cooper has held his lead over Fox’s Greta Van Susteren for eight days, finishing Tuesday night in first place among viewers 25-54 with 530,000. Van Susteren trailed by 93,000 viewers, and MSNBC’s Ed Schultz was a distant third, with 248,000. In the competition among total viewers, Van Susteren took first place.
