Joe Scarborough Wants Democrats ‘Wetting Their Bed Every Morning’ So They’ll Work Harder to Re-Elect Biden

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough had one idea to light a fire under Democrats this election year — keep them scared.

A new set of swing state polls from Bloomberg/Morning Consult released on Wednesday showed President Joe Biden gaining some ground against former President Donald Trump in battleground states. Biden pulled ahead slightly in Michigan, while Trump maintained a lead in every other state. All the numbers were within the margin of error, meaning all those states are still in play.

After analyzing those results, Scarborough said he was “torn.” And then he suggested that some evil genius-level reverse psychology might be the way to get Democrats to stay motivated through November:

Scarborough: I’m torn.

Brzezinski: You’re torn?

Scarborough: Because I love American democracy.

Brzezinski: Me too.

Scarborough: And at the same time, I hate listening to Democratic bed-wetting every day. I want them to be scared so they’ll work harder. I want them to be wetting their bed every morning so they get up and work harder all day. I don’t want to tell them that they have money.

He continued:

They’ve got the money, they’ve got the ground game, they’ve got the non-fascist candidate. They’re out-working Trump. Even when Trump’s off he’s golfing or he’s doing other loony things. And, you know, I don’t want to tell people I feel good about this, but I feel good about this. I think I think if they work harder, they keep having more money, and they build that ground game. You look at Wisconsin, probably the best party chairman in the nation, in Wisconsin. And then you put the governor on top of that. Do the same in Michigan, do the same in Pennsylvania. A couple great governors there. You know what? They’ve got a lot going in their favor.
