Lindsey Graham Says He’s ‘Ok’ With Trump Negotiating With Hamas Because ‘I Trust Trump’

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said he has no issue with President Donald Trump negotiating with Hamas to try to secure the release of hostages.

On Tuesday, Axios reported that the Trump administration has been having direct talks with Hamas about the hostages and possibly an end to the war in Gaza, which Israel launched after Hamas perpetrated the Oct. 7 attacks in 2023. Fifty-nine hostages are still being held in Gaza, of which 35 have been confirmed dead by the Israel Defense Forces. At least one of five Americans taken hostage is believed to be alive.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt later confirmed the report, telling Axios that “it is the right thing for the American people” because “there are American lives on the line.”

Appearing on Wednesday’s Jesse Watters Primetime on Fox News, Graham offered his reaction.

“I’m ok with it,” the senator said. “I don’t mind what Trump does because I trust Trump. But Trump sent out a tweet today [saying] release the hostages or you will be destroyed. And that’s the kind of leadership we need. So, I trust Trump. As long as he’s in the room, I’m ok.”

Graham was referring to a Truth Social post by Trump just hours before.

“Release all of the Hostages now, not later, and immediately return all of the dead bodies of the people you murdered, or it is OVER for you,” the president posted. “Only sick and twisted people keep bodies, and you are sick and twisted!”
