Nancy Grace Blasts The View Hosts For ‘Throwing Stones Behind A Coffee Cup’
Nancy Grace and The View panel were very cordial this morning — at least until minute 14 of the broadcast, when the conversation turned to Grace’s insinuation after Whitney Houston’s death that there may have been someone with her at the time of her death “who let her slip or pushed her underneath the water.” Barbara Walters asked Grace if she still thought that might be true.
At first, Grace remained calm. She told the panel “I don’t care if it’s Whitney Houston…or somebody off the street…that’s why we have autopsies to determine one of three things: did someone die of natural causes, an accident or foul play.” When a few of the hosts objected to this she repeated herself and raised her voice, telling them that it’s “easy to throw stones from behind a coffee cup.” Whoa! You could imagine how well this went over, as Joy Behar and Sherri Shepherd pursed their lips and glared into the middle distance.
Barbara asked again, “Do you still think that someone may have pushed her?” Grace insisted “What I said was regarding an autopsy.” Elisabeth Hasselbeck half-heartedly jumped in to defend her, saying that if she or a loved one died she hoped someone would ask all of these questions, but it was an uncomfortable moment for everyone.
