Nancy Mace Complains About George Stephanopoulos ‘Shaming’ Her Over Trump: ‘Like, Rape is Bad Unless You’re a Republican’

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) attacked George Stephanopoulos on Fox News Monday, slamming their riotous interview in her first television appearance since clashing with the ABC anchor over the weekend.

Mace battled the This Week anchor Sunday when Stephanopoulos asked how she could support former President Donald Trump after he’d been found liable for sexual assault in a New York civil court.

Mace revealed that as a victim of rape herself, she took significant issue with being shamed into who she can or cannot support as a rape victim, to which Stephanopoulos repeatedly insisted his reasonable line of questioning was not about her past experience but about her current support for Trump.

After airing a brief clip of the exchange, Fox News anchor Harris Faulkner was aghast, saying, “That was unbelievable,” before asking the South Carolina congresswoman, “What was that like to sit there and be questioned that way?”

Mace revealed that she was “shocked and dismayed by the line of questioning” before calling the ABC anchor a “bully” who, she asserted, “shamed [her] as a rape survivor over my support for Donald Trump.” In his defense, he made clear that he was not shaming her, only asking how she supported him despite him being found liable by a jury for the sexual assault of E. Jean Carroll.

Mace found a sympathetic figure in Faulkner, who followed up with, “You seemed to signal enough with your body language and your words that you felt bullied at that moment, and then you spoke the words, stop shaming me. ”

“That’s why women won’t come forward when they’re assaulted is because of the judgment and the shame,” Mace said, though again, to be clear, Stephanopoulos was not shaming her about her rape experience, only asking an elected member of congress why she supports the GOP frontrunner who, again, was found liable for sexual assault.

“And here he was, judging me, bullying me, and shaming me as a rape victim for my political choices,” she continued on the offense. “And it’s wrong. But it’s almost like rape is bad unless you’re a Republican, and then we’re going to shame you for it. And the way that the left reacted, it’s just a reflection of how bad Joe Biden’s numbers are, that this is what they do to rape survivors, to rape victims. That’s a shame.”
