Nicolle Wallace: In 365 Days, Trump Has Gone from ‘Surprise Victor’ to ‘Skunk at the Garden Party’

“In 365 seemingly endless days, Donald Trump went from surprise victor to the skunk at the garden party.”

That was how MSNBC’s Nicolle Wallace opened her show the day after election day. The big Democratic gains in Virginia became the main focus of the panel discussion.

Wallace said there’s certainly a way now Democrats can go after Republicans “who attach themselves to Donald Trump, which should terrify every member of Congress” who’s been reluctant to denounce Trump and/or Trumpism.

As for Gillespie himself, Wallace said he’s a “good person” whose campaign didn’t reflect that. “He lost,” she said, “because he sold his soul to the ugliest and darkest parts of Trumpism.”
