Pataki Complains About CNN Undercard Debate Starting Out with Trump Questions
The first round of questioning at the CNN undercard debate was all about Donald Trump, and George Pataki made it clear he wasn’t happy about it.
Moderator Hugh Hewitt challenged Pataki on breaking the GOP loyalty pledge by saying he won’t vote for Trump if he’s the nominee. Pataki said he didn’t break the pledge because Trump won’t be the nominee.
“This is an important election with an enormous number of challenges facing the American people,” Pataki lamented, “and the first four questions are about Donald Trump.”
That being said, he did take the bait and attack Trump, as two of the other candidates on the stage did. (Rick Santorum scolded fellow candidates, Bobby Jindal in particular, for their personal attacks on Trump).
