Perino: World Health Bacon News Part of ‘Bigger Conspiracy’ About Climate Change

The Five reacted to the news on Monday that the World Health Organization (WHO) had linked red meat consumption to higher cancer risks with jokes and plates of bacon. However, the best reaction came from co-host Dana Perino, who briefly claimed that the announcement was all a part of a much larger conspiracy.

“I think that there is a bigger conspiracy here,” she said, “by the World Health Organization.”

Whether she was being serious or not, co-host Eric Bolling egged her on: “To do with what?”

“Climate change. Global warming,” said Perino. “There’s a big push against any sort of animal consumption.”

Bolling asked if she meant vegans, and Perino confirmed. Greg Gutfeld, meanwhile, interjected with yet another wisecrack: “Reduce our carbon hoofprint, as they say.”

Perino’s “conspiracy theory” sounds more like banter than brainstorming, but considering her recent criticism of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump for pushing “liberal conspiracy theories” about 9/11, it comes off as hypocritical.
