Scarborough Mocks CO Student Walk-Out: ‘I Just Don’t Think They Wanted to Go to School’

On Tuesday, hundreds of students in high schools across the Jefferson County school district, staged a walk-out in protest of a new, conservative curriculum that would, ironically, erase civil disobedience for the history books. The story has gotten very little coverage in the world of cable news thus far, minus one mention by Morning Joe’s Willie Geist during this morning’s newspaper headline review.

Joe Scarborough smiled and shook his head as Geist reported the story, saying, “I just don’t think they wanted to go to school.”

The host then joked about what he would do when he skipped class in high school, going to a restaurant called Morrison’s and eat roast beef. For his part, Geist said he and his friends would hang out in the parking lot at 7-Eleven.

“I should have, like, staged protests,” Scarborough said, using a mocking voice to add, “I don’t like your curriculum.”
