Shep Smith Celebrates 20 Years at Fox News: ‘Thanks for Trusting and Tolerating’

shep smithToday marks exactly 20 years since Shepard Smith joined the Fox News Channel, and Smith took a moment today to mark the occasion.

Smith talked about getting ready for his first day of work 20 years ago and savid that since then, his dreams have come true. He said, “I work for the second greatest man on earth and with the best people I have ever known. Thanks for trusting, and tolerating.”

Aside from his journalistic bona fides, Smith has gotten a reputation in media circles for two things: speaking his mind occasionally on big issues like war and torture, and his unique sense of off-brand humor, like his tradition of reading from White House lunch menus and that time he went on a tangent about True Blood.
