Tucker Carlson Claims Biden’s Dig at MAGA Amounts to a ‘Coordinated Effort’ to ‘Recharacterize Political Dissent as Terrorism’

Fox News’s top-rated host, Tucker Carlson, tore into President Joe Biden and his administration on Wednesday night and warned his audience that a recent comment from Biden is evidence the president is set on “erasing democracy, [and] replacing it with autocracy.”

Carlson kicked off his show discussing reactions on the left to Monday’s leaked Supreme Court draft signaling the overturn of Roe v. Wade. The flamethrowing host then ripped into President Biden earlier in the day answering a question on the draft, in which Biden said “this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history. In recent American history.”

“Just today Joe Biden declared that people who insist on voting for things are not only wrong but the single greatest threat facing the United States,” Carlson said.

“People who still believe in yesterday’s understanding democracy when they have power are more dangerous, Joe Biden said, than Al Qaeda, the Weather Underground, even the Nazi Party. These people are terrorists and you know we do to terrorists?” Carlson continued before playing a clip of Biden.

“This is about a lot more than abortion. What happens if you have a state that changes the law saying that children who are LGBTQ can’t be in classrooms with other children? Is that legit under the way the decision is written?” Asked Biden rhetorically in a clip from the president’s remarks.

“What are the next things that are going to be attacked? Because this MAGA crowd is really the most extreme political organization that’s existed in American history,” the clip ended, cutting off Biden adding, “In recent American history.”

“Everything about that is a lie,” Carlson then continued. “Hard to believe that’s the president of the United States. It’s not a decision it’s an opinion. And that opinion says explicitly this reasoning applies only to Roe v. Wade and abortion and should not be applied to anything else. It says that flat out,” Carlson adds.

While it is true that Justice Samuel Alito’s draft does include that disclaimer, legal scholars, and critics across the board, argue the opinion could be used to argue against any ruling that establishes the right to privacy.

“So we said it’s a lie but here’s the line that you should never forget I’m quoting it. This MAGA crowd which is tens of millions of people who voted for Donald Trump is really the most extreme political organization that has existed in history. In history, all human history,” Carlson continues, misquoting Biden, who added “recent” to his remark.

“Worse than Hitler, worse than Stalin, worse than Mao. It’s hard to believe that he’s talking about tens of millions of American citizens, but he is,” Carlson goes on.

“And you should know that no American president ever has talked about his own people like this or even considered talking about his own people like this, it is shocking than any president would and he just did,” Carlson added, offering an assessment on presidential rhetoric that would certainly not hold up to historical scrutiny or a look at rhetoric from Donald Trump who regularly called the press “the enemy of the people.”

“And it’s easy to see where it goes from here, what do you do to terrorists? Well, you know what you do, you kill them. It doesn’t matter if they are American citizens,” continued Carlson, implying the U.S. government would kill its own citizens.

Carlson continued:

Barack Obama taught us that, you drone ‘em. They are terrorists, terrorists they must die. So you should take close attention to what any president says at the podium, particularly when it is Joe Biden and everything he says he reads because he has no choice.

What are we seeing? We are seeing a coordinated effort by the Joe Biden administration to recharacterize political dissent as terrorism. Disagree with us you are Al Qaeda, you are Hitler.

“So, to get people to accept this instead of using rational arguments because there is no rational argument and this is the definition of a tyranny,” Carlson added, concluding Biden is working at “Erasing democracy, replacing it with autocracy and force. So instead of convincing people, they are using what they always use, which is fear and hate. Here is Kamala Harris.”

Carlson then a played a clip of Harris reacting to the draft opinion, which Carlson then jokingly mocked: “How dare they, she squeaks.”
