Adam Schiff on Russia/Trump Collusion: ‘There is Evidence That is Not Circumstantial’

After his press conference this afternoon slamming House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes for publicly revealing findings of “incidentally collected” Trump transition communications and briefing President Donald Trump on them before him, committee ranking member Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) spoke to MSNBC’s Chuck Todd and dropped his own bombshell.

Referencing a Meet the Press interview from Sunday, Todd pressed Schiff on the investigation into potential collusion between Trump’s campaign and the Russian government being a “circumstantial case.”

“Actually, no, Chuck,” the California lawmaker stated. “I can tell you that the case is more than that. And I can’t go into the particulars, but there is more than circumstantial evidence now.”

“You have seen direct evidence of collusion?” Todd asked.

“I don’t to want go into specifics, but I will say that there is evidence that is not circumstantial,” Schiff responded. “And it is very much worthy of investigation. So, that is what we ought to do.”

The Democratic Congressman added that Nunes’s actions have dealt a “serious body blow to the credibility” of the committee, stating that they now need an independent commission.
