Another Man Named George Papadopoulos Is Having a Really Bad Day on Twitter

Meet George Papadopoulos — a CPA who has contributed to The Wall Street Journal. George Papadopoulos the accountant is not George Papadopoulos the one-time aide to President Donald Trump — who, it was announced Monday, pleaded guilty to lying to FBI agents during the Russia probe. But just the same, George Papadopoulos the accountant is not having a good day.

In an unfortunate case of mistaken identity, many on Twitter have messaged Papadopoulos the financial expert believing that he is Papadopoulos the campaign aide. Not helping matters is the fact that Papadopoulos the accountant has a verified Twitter account and a significant following. Such factors undoubtedly led people to believe that Papadopoulos the CPA was their man.

He was not. But plenty thought he was. Here’s just a handful of the critical Tweets he received from those who mistook him for Trump’s Papadopoulos.
