CBS Orders New Series About Aliens Eating Congress’ Brains

CBS today ordered a new series that is, I swear to God, about an America where aliens have eaten the brains of pretty much everyone in Congress.

But who would know the difference yuk yuk ba dum tss!!!

But yes, seriously, this is actually happening. Deadline reports that the new show BrainDead is being developed by Robert and Michelle King, the duo behind CBS’ hit show The Good Wife.

But whereas that show deals with politics in a more realistic kind of way, BrainDead is, as Deadline phrased it, about “an eager young Hill staffer starting her first job in Washington who discovers the federal government has stopped working – because alien spawn have eaten the brains of Congressmen and other Hill staffers.”

CBS ordered a 13-episode first season, and it will air next summer, in the middle of the 2016 election season.

If the aliens don’t get to us first.
