Cruz Runs Ads on Trump Trans Stance: ‘Guess Who’s Joined the Ranks of the PC Police?’
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz upped his attacks on his rival Donald Trump‘s support for letting trans individuals use the bathroom of their choice, releasing a pair of ads on the issue Thursday and Friday.
The first, titled “Appropriate,” warns that Trump’s stance would endanger women. “Should a grown man pretending to be a woman be allowed to use the women’s room?” the ad asks. “The same bathroom used by your children? Your wife?”
The second ad, titled “Common Sense,” manages to throw fired ESPN analyst Curt Shilling into the mix. “Curt Shilling was fired by the P.C. police for suggesting that grown men shouldn’t use the bathroom with little girls,” the narration says. “Guess who’s joined the ranks of the P.C. police?”
The ad then plays Trump’s supportive comments over a graphic of a bathroom, with the legs of a young girl in one stall and the legs of man with his pants and boxers down to his ankles in the next stall. “Donald Trump can’t be trusted with common sense, why would we trust him in the White House?” the narrator asks.
