Evangelist Explains Why God Hasn’t Struck Down Bill Maher Yet…

Bill Maher is no fan of organized religion (as we’ve documented plenty of times in this space), so if God really exists, why hasn’t Maher met his maker by the hand of the Lord himself? Well, evangelist Bryan Fischer explained Monday it’s because God is giving Maher chances to repent before that day comes.

Fischer declared that Maher should consider himself lucky God gave him freedom of choice, and said he only gets “to blaspheme God, to ridicule God, to mock God” because of free will. And, Fischer added, just because Maher hasn’t faced judgment yet for his blasphemy doesn’t mean it couldn’t happen soon enough.

“The only reason that Bill Maher––after a tirade like that, there is absolutely only one reason why Bill Maher draws another single breath, and that is because God is merciful, God is compassionate, He is abounding in steadfast love and loving kindness… Why does God allow Bill Maher to go on these blasphemous rants? Because he is waiting for Bill Maher to come to the place of repentance.”

Fischer concluded, “Bill Maher might have thought he was being hip and trendy and kind of cool and all of that, but he’s going to be judged for those careless words, God hopes it doesn’t come to that.”
